📍 Location: Peterlee

Invicta Environmental were asked to support our customer with an ongoing bird issue after pest birds had begun nesting and roosting within several stairwells across the site.

🚧 Works Completed

✅ Our team carried out an initial specialist hygiene clean, removing the build-up of bird guano throughout the affected stairwells. The areas were treated with a suitable biocide before being thoroughly jet-washed to remove contamination and reduce the associated health and safety risks.

✅ 50mm bird netting was installed across all four stairwells, creating a physical barrier to prevent pest birds from gaining access and re-establishing within the structures.

✅ Due to the challenging access conditions on site, the installation was completed using a combination of mobile-elevated access platforms and spider lifts, allowing our technicians to safely reach all required areas.

👏 Another fantastic installation completed by the Invicta team, with some great feedback received from the management team on site.

Invicta Environmental was proud to deliver a comprehensive bird-proofing installation on a historic building in the heart of Newcastle.

🤝 Working closely with the architect, main contractor and building owners, the team successfully completed the project to specification, on time and to an exceptional standard.

✅ To preserve the character of the surrounding historic buildings, the client selected a discreet post-and-wire system alongside upstanding bird spikes. Where required these systems were installed using adhesive in accordance with the building's conservation requirements and project specifications.

It's always rewarding to be part of projects that help protect and preserve historic buildings while delivering effective, long-term bird control solutions.

📍 Location: Darlington

Invicta Environmental was appointed to complete a comprehensive bird-proofing installation following restoration works to a large office building in Darlington.

🚧 What We Delivered:

✅ Installed approximately 700 metres of bird spikes across window ledges, brickwork ledges and associated pipework throughout the building.

✅ Installed a drop-down bird netting system to protect the main entrance frontage.

✅ Installed two bird netting systems to protect the mansard roofs following completion of the restoration works.

✅ Completed the project across three separate phases, working closely with the restoration contractors, roofers, decorating team and scaffolders to ensure the works were delivered safely, efficiently and on schedule.

👏 This was a fantastic project to be involved with, working alongside a great team on site and seeing the building’s transformation from start to finish.

🔷 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 – 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲! 🐀🕵️‍♂️

During a visit today, our technician Carl Maddison captured this fantastic piece of footage after a customer contacted us regarding rodent issues following a recent property extension.

Our team got to work carrying out a detailed inspection and identified that part of the old drainage system had been left open, creating a direct access route underneath the customer’s home.

✅ Riddance programme implemented.
🔧 RatGate - Rodent Prevention Device installed to allow rodents exit the drainage system.
🚫 Ingress point to be sealed once the activity has been cleared.

This is a great example of why identifying the root cause is so important when dealing with rodent issues.

🔷 𝗔 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻… 🐀🕵️‍♂️

Invicta were called in to support this property after noises were reported in the loft space. Our technician got to work, carrying out a detailed inspection to pinpoint the root cause of the issue.

During the drainage investigation, we identified a large hole in the pipework, an uncapped redundant line, and several slipped joints.

🐀 Our technician implemented a riddance programme to clear the activity.
🔧 Drainage repairs were agreed with the customer.

Upon excavation, we found that an old slate tile had been pushed up against the redundant line. 🤦🏽‍♂️

Our team removed the redundant section, correctly sealed the pipework, and installed several non-dig structural line repairs to restore the integrity of the drainage system.

✅ Property cleared.
✅ Repairs complete.
