So I am a total novice at growing dahlias as cut flowers, and I have a lot to learn but I am absolutely loving it. Last year I got into bringing flowers into the house from the garden, it has brought me so much joy. This year having the dahlias when it’s been a drought and lots of plants have been struggling to flower, has been so much fun and has brightened my days and I am loving taking them to friends and family. They are pretty much every few days giving me more cut flowers to use. I will definitely be doing this again and adding more to my collection. 🌺🌺

Sometimes if it’s a hot day at it can quiet down at the end of the day. They are always special quiet moments. I was just looking over my holiday photos and then I found this little video I had done at the end of the day. I do often have videos or photos I never use 🤣🤦‍♀️ but it’s nice to find them sometimes.

So I am dedicating this post to self seeders, they absolutely give me joy, allowing plants to self seed in cracks in paving or gravel they are just incredible. And to be really honest with you I have come back from a special holiday, and have come home with the holiday blues, I came back to a few plants that have got scorched from the heat and there feels like a million jobs to catch up on however these little tiny self seeders have cheered me up this morning, sometimes it’s just the little things in life that make the difference. And plants are a big part of my life, which I am so grateful for. 💚💚

I recorded this just before heading to Chelsea flower show. This is a garden I designed as a productive space, where my client could grow vegetables, fruit, and other edibles throughout the year.

From my very first visit, the garden had the atmosphere of a traditional walled garden, and that became the guiding inspiration for the design.

As you move through the garden, there’s a real feeling of being within a walled garden environment. One of my favourite features is the sunken, edged lawn, which brings structure and definition.

However what I love most now, is the atmosphere. Whenever I visit, you can always hear the birds singing. It has such a peaceful, established feel, and it’s wonderful to see how the garden has matured into a space that is both productive and deeply relaxing.

Thanks for the photos
