Todays been all about teamwork. After a failed material delivery yesterday, we all pulled together today to get the job done we needed. Loading 2 vans numerous times with 2200 slates,taking to site, unloading vans, loading bumper and men on roof to offload slates and disperse as needed. We have all worked hard, had a laugh and chatted the day but more importantly got the job done.

Another large project carried out. Structural alterations to widen opening into conservatory, old conservatory roof taken off and new warm roof installed, new lighting, boarded and plastered inside, old floor tiles removed and new tiles laid throughout. Gable end cladded to complete the aesthetics. End result was a huge room now usable all year round.

So we were approached by a client who had 3 bay windows that had GRP tops as in first picture, they were not happy with the way they looked as they were out of character with the house. We stripped them off, insulated and re boarded the tops and set about scalloping leadwork apron to all bays and fully leaded the entire tops as they would have been originally. 2 coats of patination oil . Now looks in keeping with the surroundings.

Another troublesome roof leaking and severely ponding, Removed the 4no AC Units from the roof Stripped back all sub boards created a better fall and re boarded, stripped both pitched roofs and re felted and lathed and re tiled, installed new commercial grade flexi proof EDPM membrane. Reinstated the Air Con Compressors. Another successful 21 metre roof sorted and guaranteed for another 30 years. New stepped lead flashings on farmhouse roof.

So this job was a can of worms that had been a problem for over 20 years, flat roof above a busy restaurant which leaked badly and has had several attempts to rectify over the years, not only was the weather a problem but 8 very large AC units discharged onto the roof constantly. We started by totally stripping the entire roof, put down new sub boards and covered in bitumen, we then laid a new membrane and made up frames to create a fall to a purpose made lead gutter that runs the entire length, insulated with PIR sheets, boarded with OSB3 interlocking boards then installed a flexiproof commercial grade EDPM membrane and new lead flashings all around. We then stripped back the 2 pitched roofs that discharged on the flat roof and re felted and lathed and installed 3in1 vent trays and retiled.
End result totally waterproof roof that requires no maintenance and a dry restaurant.
A difficult job but all in all very pleased with the finished job. Thanks to Jamie Griffin Joinery&Building Services and Scott Laverick for your invaluable help and Sharron Griffin for spending all day one Saturday mopping up when the heavens opened.

New Bulk head installed to incorporate air conditioning units and ductwork. Panelling to walls to upgrade look of Hotel function room giving it a more upmarket feel.

Had to go to Bank tday to pay in cheque and cash
Forgot paying in book
Only ever used once in 2018
Lady behind counter said as its a business account I should pay in via machines but due to amount of notes would take couple times so she would do over counter
I was grateful
Most customers do Bacs
But what do we pay business bank charges for if they are going to make us use the depisit machines
There is no dedicated Business advisor or go to now
Appreciate other peoples views who are in business
