😂 Don't you just hate it when you're running a small business and a customer walks in, browses around, doesn't say a word to you and then walks straight back out again?

Well, Percy the peacock clearly hasn't read the small business etiquette handbook 🦚🤣

He wandered straight into Calbourne Cottage today, had a good nose around and didn't even stop to talk to the lovely Venita. Not a word, not a purchase, just a quick browse before heading back out again 😂

Honestly, some customers 🙄🦚

At least he added a little extra feathered fabulousness to our day here at The Watermill 💚

And that’s a wrap for the new space ❤️

After weeks of hard work, painting, moving, rearranging and probably changing our minds more than once, we can finally say it’s finished.

A huge thank you to Les, who took the hardwood from the wall we removed and gave it a whole new lease of life, turning it into a fantastic set of new shelves.

And of course, a big thank you to the equally talented Jo, who worked her magic with the paint.

The shelves have been finished in Bradstock Green from the limited-edition Frenchic Alfresco range, paired with Pampas from the Frenchic Wall Paint range.💚🩷

We think they’ve turned out beautifully and we’re so pleased with how the whole new space has come together.

Now all that’s left to do is fill those shelves… which our new traders will be doing shortly. 👀

Thank you, Les and Jo, for all your hard work. We couldn’t have done it without you both. 💕

And we promise… no more decorating until the New Year! 😂

Here at Calbourne Cottage, we’re all looking forward to welcoming Gail Wareham – The Wight Soul to our ever-growing family of independent traders.

Gail is a local artist, author and illustrator, sharing her work through her creative persona, The Wight Soul.

Inspired by the natural world around us, Gail creates beautiful paintings of botanical and arboreal subjects, alongside poetry and nature writing that celebrates everything the surrounding land has to offer.

To complement her books, Gail also has a gorgeous range of giftware featuring her artwork and quotes from her writings, allowing you to take a little piece of The Wight Soul home with you.

The Wight Soul takes you on journeys through nature in words and images. 🌿

We’re delighted to have Gail joining us here at Calbourne Cottage and can’t wait for you to discover her work.
