Converted a cupboard where a boiler used to be into a useable space with a shoe rack with pull out trays and space from brooms/ ironing board. Love making these everyone is always grateful and happy. Remember ladies you can never have to many shoes 😂😂

Little project for myself to do in between Christmas and new year. Make a new tv cabinet, just because I fancied making one. Object of the task lets splits split and knots be knotty. Using every single bit of timber and create no waste. The unit was made of English oak which is not used much as the knots are so hard it destroys your tools. The tree was felled in Frodsham about 15 years ago and a was luckily enough to get my hands on some. Waxed the ends of the timber to stop it drying out to quickly and then just forgot about it unit now. All the joints are tight stub tennon joints with no fixings just glue. The back boards were off cuts from sizing the top plank and I did not straighten them just doubled them up to hide any gaps between them. Front edges all left wayney edge as on the tree. Yes now it’s inside it may twist and the splits get bigger but I just wanted more of a natural cottage effect. Finished with 3 coats of interior oak oil
