S.G.Roofing carried out a full restoration on the roof of this grade 2 star listed church in Plaitford near Romsey. Parts of the building are over 800 years old.
A building such as this requires careful consideration with regards to both the working methods and materials used. Our proposed schedule of works was approved by Bath Conservation Architects before the project started.
We replaced over 3000 deteriorated tiles with new tiles which were hand made using English clay from a quarry in Kent.
All of the lime work was renewed and failing lead flashings were replaced with traditional lime fillets.
