3 things I miss about my old corporate job (and yes, I said it 👀)

💸 A regular income. As someone who grew up on a council estate, there’s something deeply soothing about not having to worry about what money will land in your bank account each month.

⏰ The whole "work for yourself and set your own hours" thing? Lol. I work way more now than I ever did in corporate, and I’ve even taken on a part-time job while building my freelance career.

🧠 Not having to make 847 decisions a day. In corporate there are whole teams handling different parts of the business. When you’re self-employed, you are the team. CEO, marketing department, finance manager and admin assistant all rolled into one.

Despite this I still wouldn’t trade… but self-employment is definitely not the chilled, laptop-on-the-beach vibe social media sold us 😂

Sometimes the hardest part of taking the leap isn't jumping, it's letting go of the version of yourself that doesn't fit the next chapter ✨.

We have a habit of romanticising the past, remembering the highlights while conveniently forgetting the burnout, dissatisfaction, self doubt and why we brought about change in the first place.

My latest Substack article is about the importance of letting go, because sometimes holding onto who we were stops us fully embracing who we're becoming.

To be her… ✨

The girl covered in neon paint, dancing at a festival 15 years ago without a second thought, wild, free, and completely unapologetic. She didn’t overthink, she didn’t shrink, she just was.

Somewhere along the way, life happened. Lessons, heartbreak, growth, responsibility… and I softened, questioned and held back.

Lately, I’ve been finding my way back to her. Not by undoing the years, but by weaving her spirit into the woman I am now.

A little less reckless, a lot more grounded…
but still colourful, curious and free in the ways that matter most.

Hey guys I did a scary thing… I published my first piece on Substack 📝

It’s about unlearning people-pleasing, setting boundaries, and the weird moment you realise that becoming yourself can turn you into the “villain” in other people’s stories.

For a long time, I thought being liked meant I was doing something right; turns out I was often abandoning myself in the process.

This one’s for anyone who’s ever felt guilty for changing, saying no, or no longer being as “easy” as they once were.
