Sureflow Building Services and Taylor Lewis have joined forces to support the Vanessa Grant Trust and its work to improve educational facilities for children in Kenya.

Taylor Lewis Director, Anthony Bassett, has known Sureflow Director Ross Sundercombe Volunteer for over 20 years and has supported many of his fundraising initiatives over the years. More recently, Taylor Lewis has continued that support through sponsorship and donations to the Trust.

Anthony said: “Ross and I go back a long way, and with Sureflow and Taylor Lewis now working together here in Cornwall, it felt only right that our two businesses should come together to support his work with such a worthwhile charity in Kenya.

At Taylor Lewis, we’re committed to supporting charities, families and worthwhile causes as part of our ongoing commitment to making a positive social impact.

We’re proud to support the work of the Vanessa Grant Trust-KE and help make a lasting difference to children and their communities.”

The Journey:

Sureflow Building Services was established in April 2020 with a clear aim: to build a construction company with a strong reputation for quality and reliability.

Since then, we have continued to grow sustainably year on year, developing our team, expanding our in house capabilities and taking on an increasingly diverse range of projects across Cornwall.

Today, our work ranges from bespoke new builds and renovations to mixed developments and large scale commercial projects, supported by our in house Mechanical & Electrical Services, and experienced Project Management and Commercial Team.

Our growth has allowed us to offer a comprehensive turnkey construction service, with greater control over each stage of a project and the ability to provide clients with cost control and a coordinated professional service from initial planning through to completion.

While the scale and scope of our work has grown considerably over the years, our approach remains the same: careful planning, quality workmanship and a commitment to delivering a high standard for our clients.

We are very proud of how far Sureflow has come in six years and look forward to continuing to grow sustainably, strengthen our in house capabilities and take on new projects across Cornwall.

Another milestone for Sureflow Building Services

Today marks an exciting milestone for Sureflow, with Coastline Housing officially completing the purchase of our Penwithick site. With works due to commence on site over the next couple of weeks, we’re looking forward to seeing this project move from planning into construction.

This scheme has been a long and challenging process, particularly in balancing the viability of the development with the increasing requirements and standards for new-build housing in Cornwall. Throughout the process, Sureflow and Coastline Housing have worked closely with Cornwall Council’s planning team to ensure the scheme could deliver high quality, sustainable homes while meeting the needs of the local community.

The completed development will provide 28 new homes, all of which will be 100% affordable, helping to address the significant housing need in the area.

The homes will also benefit from:
• 🚗 Two parking spaces per property
• ⚡ EV charging provision
• 🌱 Excellent energy efficiency with Air Source Heating
• 🏡 High quality, modern homes designed for long-term affordability and sustainability

We’re really looking forward to getting started on site and bringing this scheme forward.

On Friday, we were delighted to take part in the annual AFC St Austell Golf Day, held at Porthpean Golf Club.

The sun was shining, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the whole event was a brilliant example of the community spirit that makes days like this so enjoyable.

The Sureflow team, headed up by Director Ross Sundercombe Volunteer Kenya put together a respectable 8-under-par round. Unfortunately, it wasn’t quite enough to get us into the prizes!

Joining us this year was 16-year-old Dylan Rundle, one of our apprentices, who more than held his own and arguably carried the team! Dylan produced a fantastic round of golf and certainly showed the old boys how it’s done.

We hope the day raised plenty of money for both AFC St Austell and Porthpean Golf Club, supporting two fantastic local organisations.

A huge thank you and well done to everyone involved in organising the day and to all the teams who helped make it such a great event.

Ross said: “We have a strong relationship with AFC St Austell, and it’s great to be part of such a fantastic event. The weather certainly helped, but what’s most impressive is the camaraderie between all the teams and players before, during and after the golf and irrespective of how badly I played, or how many balls I lost, I had a good laugh!”

We’re excited and proud to announce that Sureflow Building Services are supporting the construction of two new classrooms and a new staff room at Rongai Primary School in rural Kenya.

As many of you will know, our Director Ross Sundercombe Volunteer Kenya has been visiting and working in Kenya for nearly 20 years. We’re therefore delighted to be supporting Ross and the team at Vanessa Grant Trust Kenya with this important project and helping to provide much-needed facilities for the school and its pupils.

The existing classrooms are in very poor condition, with tin roofs, wooden walls and a lack of suitable desks and seating. The new classrooms will provide a safer, more suitable learning environment for the children and better facilities for the teachers.

Ross said:
"This is a project the Trust identified earlier this year, and having visited the school myself, I could immediately see how important it is. The existing facilities are in poor condition, and the new classrooms will make a real difference to the development of the school, the safety of the children and the quality of their learning environment. Having been involved in building projects in Kenya for nearly 20 years, it’s incredibly rewarding to now be able to support projects like this alongside the work we do here in Cornwall. I’m really excited to see the project take shape."

This project is a great example of Sureflow’s commitment to supporting communities, both locally and further afield, and forms part of our ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility programme.

We’re looking forward to sharing regular updates and photos as the work progresses on site in Kenya.

Our Director, Ross Sundercombe, is taking part in the annual Plymouth Argyle Community Trust Golf Day at Tavistock Golf Club today, alongside Miles Lovegrove from Fluid Branding, Matt Cook from Elevate Legal and Craig Varley.

We’re proud to be part of such a fantastic day, bringing local businesses together while raising money for a very worthy cause. 💚

⚽ A TALE OF TWO HALVES! ☀️🌧️

What started as a fantastic morning of football unfortunately turned into a very wet afternoon!

The SoccerAid Safari got off to a brilliant start, with 24 youth teams from across Cornwall & Devon taking part in the Argyle Community Trust Tournament.

With the sun shining, players, parents and spectators enjoyed a great morning of football, with appearances from Pilgrim Pete and Larry the Lion adding to the fun! 🦁

Sadly, the heavens opened in the afternoon, and the decision was made to cancel the now famous Adults Charity Match to protect St Blazey FC’s beautiful pitch.

Despite the rain, plenty of people stayed on, enjoying a burger, a b**r and, most importantly, the fantastic community spirit that this event brings. 🍔🍺

And the result?
