Home Energy Innovation

🔋 We’ve installed a few different battery systems over the years, but there’s a lot to love about

For us, it’s not just about storing electricity — it’s about how everything works together.

From its sleek design and smart energy management to its backup power capability, it’s a great bit of kit. We especially love how it integrates with solar PV, EV charging and our Loxone smart home system at the office.

We’re big believers in making homes more efficient, more intelligent and less reliant on the grid — and systems like Sigenergy are helping make that possible.

What do you think of Sigenergy? 👇

🚐⚡ NEW VAN DAY!
We’ve added a brand-new Ford Transit Custom Electric to the Home Energy Innovation fleet! 🔋

As the business continues to grow, we’re always looking for ways to improve what we do — and adding an electric van to the fleet is another step towards a more sustainable future.

But we couldn’t just have a standard van… 😎
We sent it over to .design for the wrap, and we think they’ve absolutely smashed it! 🔥

It’s now fully branded and ready to hit the road, carrying the kit we need for our heat pump, solar PV, battery and electrical installations.

Thanks for finding the perfect van for us.

Smaller exclusion zone. More flexibility. Same focus on great heat pump performance. 🔥

We’re taking a closer look at .uk new heat pump and its significantly reduced exclusion zone compared with the previous generation.

For installers, this could make a real difference when working with tighter spaces and more challenging properties.

This is the same installation we shared on Sunday — now let’s take a closer look at one of the features that caught our attention. 👀

Thanks

Another clever bit of kit from Lewden 👌⚡️

We’ve been having a look at Lewden’s new heat pump fuseboard, and there are some really useful features that make installing heat pump systems that little bit easier.
The single-module Type B RCD Curve C MCB RCBO is a great space-saving solution, keeping everything neat and tidy without taking up loads of room in the board.
We also really like the pre-marked cable entry holes. Much more useful on site than traditional knockouts, especially when you’re trying to keep an installation looking clean and professional.

And a small detail that makes a big difference — the built-in mounting tabs mean you can mount the DB without having to drill through the enclosure. 🔧
It’s the sort of design that shows someone has actually thought about what installers need on site.
We’re always looking for ways to make our installations cleaner, quicker and easier to work on — and this is definitely a step in the right direction.

Another Vaillant heat pump installation completed for Heat Geek ⚡️

Zero Disruption doesn’t mean low quality.
This one was a little different for us as we installed our first new 10kW Vaillant UK heat pump, along with a number of upgrades to make sure the system is built around performance, reliability and future optimisation.

We upgraded the installation with a Spirotech UK magnetic filter and IMI expansion vessel, as well as installing OpenEnergyMonitor so the system can be monitored closely and fine-tuned to achieve the best possible performance.

The hot water cylinder was also upgraded. Initially, this was to improve hot water performance, but when we inspected the internals of the existing cylinder, we found it was already pretty heavily scaled up, making replacement an even more worthwhile upgrade.

On the electrical side, we installed a new Lewden heat pump consumer unit, including a new single-module, heat-pump-specific Type B RCBO. We also tidied up some existing electrical work that raised concerns and installed a new supply ready for a future air-conditioning system.

Another project where the details matter. From the heat pump and hydraulics through to the electrical installation and monitoring, everything has been considered with the long-term performance of the system in mind.

Working alongside Heat Geek to deliver another quality heat pump installation. 🔥

🚨 OUR OFFICE IS GETTING A SERIOUS UPGRADE…

What happens when you turn an office into a real-life showcase of what’s possible with modern energy technology? 👀
We’ve been busy behind the scenes upgrading our Home Energy Innovation office — bringing together heat pumps, solar PV, battery storage, EV charging, MVHR and smart home technology into one connected system.
And this isn’t just for show…
We’re building the office around the same principles we recommend to our customers: lower energy bills, better comfort, smarter energy use and a more sustainable building.
There’s still plenty more to come… 👀
Follow along as we transform the space and show you exactly what these technologies can do when they all work together.

🌍 Ground Source Heat Pump Replacement Complete ✅
We recently completed the replacement of a problematic ground source heat pump system with a new Stiebel Eltron WPE-I 15 HK 230 Premium ground source heat pump, paired with a 500L hot water cylinder.
The previous system had caused the customer ongoing issues, so reliability and performance were the main priorities from day one.
A huge thank you to for the excellent support throughout the design process. Their technical assistance was invaluable in helping us deliver the right solution for this project.
As always, we used quality components throughout:
⚡ for the electrical installation.
💧 expansion vessel.
🔄 circulation pumps.
With this being a very large property, we designed the system with a 4-pipe buffer arrangement to ensure efficient operation and excellent heating performance across the home.
Another quality renewable heating installation completed, giving the customer a reliable, efficient system they can depend on for years to come.
