This is important. Please please please do not fall into the same trap as this lovely couple almost did.
The first 21 pics on this are the way I found a Howdens paint to order(expensive) kitchen installed and according to the original joiner ready for Quartz countertops. The templater aborted this for a second time and that’s when I was asked to go take a look.
I had the laser on and was taking notes when the original guy appeared. I walked him through some of the mistakes and said it had to be taken out and started again. The range cooker delivery guys asked him to move his van and he got in it and never came back or contacted them again.
His reasons were “the walls were all over the place” and “the designer had the drawing wrong”. I also later found out he did the plastering and some of the electrical work….Wow!. Red flags and alarm bells going mental. The room had been changed since the survey so technically yeah the drawing was slightly wrong but you can’t survey into the future this guy was just not up to task.
No need to name and shame because I’ve retired him.
I didn’t even have the heart to ask how much he was about to charge them,but I’ll bet it was more than I would have. This is one of the worst installs I’ve ever seen.
I got my cape dusted off and I put “Zero Problems,Only Solutions” to the test. The pics from 21 onwards are my during and afters. I have a 10 minute video (too long to post)on how bad this install was and I have a couple videos after which I’ll post in comments. Also please note I had an actual electrician come in and do the work to the proper standards. The original fitter fortunately was ousted before it became important. That range cooker is induction top and electric ovens so what he had in mind would have failed spectacularly. Glad we came when we did.
DO YOUR DUE DILLEGENCE. On anyone claiming they can fit your dream kitchen. Things are way too expensive to take a gamble on an empty nailbag because these jokers are absolutely everywhere.
The design was by Orla of Howdens in Bridgeton who is lovely, professional and very knowledgeable. Range colour is Earth red on bottom and Mushroom on top.

Final results of our latest Howdens installation. Twin tone Hockley frontals,Darkstone and Charcoal with Dekton work surfaces. Wall units are push to open and base units true handleless. This classy kitchen was designed by Magda from the Kinningpark depot. If you would like something similar dm the page and we can arrange a free no obligation measure and quote.

This loft conversion was a long drawn out process. My wonderful clients were so patient with me. Stuck to their vision of what they wanted to achieve and trusted me when lots of things didn’t go to plan.
The architect had gotten the drawings wrong to begin with. This wasn’t fully noticed until the works had been started. I always had something niggling at me when I was measuring. However too late was the cry so we had to adapt things left right and centre and compromise to get it over the line.
I always say :zero problems:only solutions: and here we had to prove this was the case.
I have more photos to dump in comments as fb doesn’t let me add more to the post.
Few wee finishing touches to add some cupboard space and I’ll post the final product in a video soon.
Thanks for your hospitality when I lived with yous for a decade doing this guys.
