Good morning all 👋

Here's a few pictures from the start of this week making a few little improvements in this van.

I removed the old bench seat from in front of the bed and have made a starage box / seat to one side by the fire and the opposite side a housing for a compressor fridge to sit in.

I had a spare swivel arm and table laying around which they were more than happy to take off my hands so this definitely makes use of a small space.

I ha e also created a pull out system for the front of the bed without adapting what was already there to allow the bed to be nearly two foot longer down the length of the van 👌

Morning folks 👋

Here's a couple of hanging rails I made up to allow for drying those damp clothes off during the wet months when the burner is lit 👌

The rail brackets ice made up from some off cuts of birch ply and they're looking good 👌 simple but effective.

Here's another one from today...

"little lenny" log burner install into this van which I helped on the conversion with a couple years back now.

Pretty cute burner right?

Tomorrow I'll be installing a diesel heater into the van too, to allow the van to warm up in the morning before you get out of bed to get the fire lit on those colder mornings that are drawing in 🔥

A few other little work work jobs to do here too so keep ya eyes peeled for more to follow 👀

Evening all 👋

Here's one from the beginning of the week...

Repurposing an old front door for a sliding barn door style. The bottom of the door was rotted out so I've routed in a new piece of timber across the bottom edge aswell as also widening the door either side to ensure in covered the door opening from front room to kitchen when shut!

Looks pretty lush now hey, just needs oiling/painting from the client and it'll be complete 👌

Another old door was refitted in the house too back into the old framework once the framework was secured back into the stone wall 👍

Good afternoon folks 👋

Here's the complete interior build for this early Bay VW...

The bus came into me last week ready for a spruce up this week. I've taken out the old tired looking interior and given it a new lease of life.

I've made a bespoke built housing for the "porta potti" which can be used in situ in the van aswell as used as a seat but can also be lifted out and used outside when camping.

The bulkhead has ample storage room which plenty of access doors. Two drop downs at the top with lovely antique brass drop stays and the left side opening with a removable shell to allow for easier access into the bottom section when the seat unit is in place aswell as a small door below too. To the right side are two lower section doors which also have a shelve inside for a cutlery tray to live.

The top I have once again used an original style Devon laminate along with the aluminium trip and black insert around the front edge.

The birch plywood I have finished with a quality interior wax.

The light coloured birch inside the bus makes the space feel so much brighter and bigger.

Good afternoon folks 👋

Here's this week's work I've taken on for my folks, for me second week up north...

I began on Sunday by laying a new subfloor to meet the raised kitchen floor to allow for the LVT to run throughout the ground floor of the property.

The sub floor was primed with the appropriate primer before beginning laying the herringbone tiles. Approximately 40 square metres has been layed.

Today I've just finished off by a nice bead of suitable sealant around the perimeter to meet the skirtings.

Good afternoon folks 👋

Here's a kitchen I've installed from start to finish with tiling too this week for me sister up north...

Began on Sunday last week and seen it through all the way this week from flat pack units to built, installed and tiled.

Have had to run some fresh plumbing in for the integrated dishwasher and new sink.

Unfortunately waiting on delivery of the correct oven and washing machine which will be added in a couple of weeks time but I'm sure you csn agree its looking pretty swish 👌

Good afternoon all 👋

Here's something a little different for you.

I've just hand crafted this slanted dog bowl stand for my Spaniel... Mainly to keep her ears out of the water and food bowls when she's using them to stop the matting of the hair!

I've built this from 18mm Latvian birch plywood and finished with a water resistant Osmo Oil. It is a very solid construction and water resistant.

Im going to put it out there and see if anyone would be interested in purchasing one?

If I gather enough interest then I will begin making a batch in a couple of weeks time.

For the work and time involved in making this one, I would price it at £50 per stand.
Again, if there's enough interest then I would be able to reduce this cost slightly.

Let's see what happens!

Good afternoon all 👋

Here's a few pictures I've put together to showcase some of the recent VW interior work I've taken on...

Im looking to get some more booked in to the workshop over these coming winter months, with another coming in in September 👌
