Moving onto the next detail on this project — the large entrance overhang.

We’ve been tasked with the design and installation of the metal soffit cladding, working the detail into the existing timber elevation and roofline.

The aim is a clean, simple finish that complements the timber cladding while tying back into the black metalwork already used across the building.

The soffit panels are being measured, detailed and formed to suit the structure on site, giving us the flexibility to deal with the geometry and junctions as the work progresses.

Still a little more to complete, but the contrast between the natural timber and black metalwork is working really well.

One material. Multiple applications. One consistent finish.
The black PREFA aluminium is now going onto the elevations, with the first sections of single-lock standing seam cladding taking shape.
What we particularly like about this package is the continuity of the material. The same PREFA finish is being used across the roofing, fascia, soffits and now the cladding, giving the building a clean, coordinated architectural look.
Everything is being formed by us on site directly from coil, allowing us to work accurately to the building as it develops and adapt details immediately where required.
The fascia and soffit work is already complete, and the cladding is now starting to bring the whole elevation together.

A new addition to EGT — our DIMOS standing seam rollformer has arrived.

This is a big step forward for our metal roofing and architectural metalwork capability.

Bringing rollforming in-house gives us greater control over production, improves flexibility on site, and allows us to respond quickly where dimensions or details change during a project.

The machine will primarily support our aluminium standing seam roofing work, alongside the bespoke fascia, soffit, capping and flashing packages we already deliver.

For clients, the real benefit is simple: less reliance on off-site manufacturing, greater flexibility, and better control of programme and detailing.

We’re looking forward to putting it to work on some upcoming projects.

Our latest self-build project is well underway, with the first elevation of the black PREFA standing seam roof now installed.

We’re currently progressing the second elevation, working carefully around the roof windows and bringing the detailing together.

The black standing seam finish is giving the property a clean, modern architectural look, while still sitting naturally within its countryside setting.

A great example of how precision metal roofing can add real character to a high-end build.
