Back to Tetsworth this week for more cottage beam fun! So this room has not been decorated in about 15 years. Has a beautiful inglenook open fire, so loads of soot damage. Rolled up my sleeves for sugar soap galore, God it was sooty! Before, during and after pics. In between the beams I painted Johnstones white and the beams were Bedec matt black. Customer would have loved to go back to bare wood, but it would have just been too much work and cost. So I ploughed on with the black that was already there. Walls next

Just finished this loft conversion and stair well that hadn't been decorated in many years. It had gathered lots of grime from the heating system and had many large cracks which needed taping. Full wash and rinse with sugar soap, followed by decking it out with white durable matt and satin on the woodwork

Forgot to post my previous outside job on this lovely cottage. Obviously went with a Johnstones breathable white paint, which is more expensive but required on these old walls. Then switched to Bedec Barn paint in matt black for the cladding

Just finished this external job this weekend. Glad to fit it in before the weather changes. Had a complete scrape back of all the concrete gutters, antifungal wash, raking out of cracks, filling, sanding and two coats of white Stormshield. Shouldn't need doing again now for a good few years
