Yesterday, Ground Force Group attended a site in Epping, Essex, to carry out two infiltration tests and a water table check.

The ground was extremely dense and tough to excavate. With only 20mm of water-level fall recorded during the day, infiltration testing was abandoned. The findings indicate that soakaways are unsuitable in the ground tested, and an alternative drainage solution will be needed.
