A design is only as good as the team that builds it ✨From the initial plans back in 2024, seeing this garden come to life over the last two years has been incredibly rewarding. This is all thanks to Dave and the DSR Landscaping Ltd team for their really excellent work and craftsmanship. I loved working on the design for this garden. It was really tucked away, up lots of steps, down a passage, in the heart of the village, you wouldn't know it was there. It was quite overgrown when I first saw it, but the dry stone walls and views of the church and the fields created a really peaceful feel already. There was a lot of clearing to do, but gradually the new layout took shape. We restored the old pond, and added lots of new planting to bring in wildlife and support a bee hive. Mark built an amazing stone arch that leads up to the a new patio with a bench under the old apple tree. There are also raised beds for veggies, and a winding, shady path of ferns, brunnera and hostas to take you back to the house.
Huge credit and thanks to Mark Davy and his team Sarsen Ltd 👏👏👏

All the time we spent prepping and seeding a wildflower meadow and they’ve just grown here instead 🙄😄

Excited to share a project I've been working on recently. A minimalist scheme for a stunning new home in the heart of the Lakes. Creating a transition between the clean lines of the building and the natural woodland below🌲🌲🌲

A recent design for a tiny courtyard in the old Victorian streets of Penrith. The materials will reflect the local red sandstone of the walls with a new sandstone raised bed, corten steel planters, trellis and a curving path of setts 🍃 The planting will be a shade tolerant selection of ferns, grasses and flowering shrubs with some roses for fragrance 🌿
