🔥 MagnaClean Fitted – Protecting the Heating System Properly 🔥

Back recently to a property where I’d carried out a full system flush – including removing and individually flushing two radiators that were heavily sludged up.

After seeing the amount of magnetite (black sludge) in the system, it was clear the heating needed ongoing protection… so I fitted a MagnaClean filter.

A MagnaClean works by:
✅ Capturing magnetic sludge before it blocks radiators
✅ Protecting the boiler and pump
✅ Improving heating efficiency
✅ Helping prevent costly breakdowns

If your system doesn’t already have a magnetic filter fitted, you’re basically letting debris circulate around your boiler 24/7. Over time, that causes cold spots, noisy pipes, and expensive repairs.

Prevention is always cheaper than cure 👌

If your radiators are slow to heat up, have cold patches, or your boiler keeps losing pressure – it might be time to look at a clean and a filter installation.

⚠️ Mains Stop C**k Failure! ⚠️

Today I had a mains stop c**k snap in the off position, handle and spindle gone!

A failing stop c**k is serious – it controls the water for your home, and a failure can cause major damage. 💦

I had to replace the head under live mains pressure. Not a DIY job!

If your stop c**k is old, stiff, or looking worse for wear, get it checked before it fails.

Trust me, it’s one thing you don’t want to leave to chance. ✅

🛠️ Radiator Flush – Look at the State of This Water! 🛠️

This is what came out of a radiator I flushed today!
That black sludge is magnetite and it builds up over time inside your heating system.

❗Why flushing your radiators is so important:

• Radiators heat unevenly (hot at the top, cold in the middle/bottom)
• Your boiler has to work harder, using more gas
• Increased risk of pump, valve, and boiler failure
• Shortens the lifespan of your whole heating system

A proper flush helps:

✅ Restore full heat output
✅ Improve energy efficiency
✅ Reduce running costs
✅ Protect your boiler and components

To help prevent further issues, I’ll be fitting a MagnaClean magnetic filter to the system tomorrow, which will catch any remaining and future sludge before it causes problems.

Garden tap completed today 💧

Sometimes small jobs make a difference!

I planned to use the usual set up but due to restricted access behind the kitchen cupboards, this wasn’t possible and had no other option but to use a garden tap kit

🚽✨ Bathroom Upgrade Complete! ✨🚿

We removed the old toilet and basin and replaced them with a vanity toilet and matching vanity basin as part of this property renovation.

✔️ Old units removed & disposed
✔️ New vanity suite supplied & fitted
✔️ Pipework adjusted to suit new layout
✔️ Another step closer to a finished renovation

🔧 Radiator Upgrade Complete! 🔧

Removed old radiators, fitted 5 new radiators, and adjusted the pipework to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Added inhibitor to protect the system and keep it running efficiently!
