Drainage Engineer

Location: Lincolnshire and Peterborough
Hours: Full-time, including participation in an on-call rota
Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience

Metro Rod is looking for an experienced Drainage Engineer to join our growing team, covering Lincolnshire, Peterborough and the surrounding areas.

The successful candidate will attend domestic and commercial properties to investigate and resolve a wide range of drainage problems. This is a varied, field-based position requiring excellent customer service, practical ability and the confidence to work independently.

Main Responsibilities

Clearing blocked drains, toilets, sinks, gullies and pipework
Operating high-pressure water jetting equipment
Carrying out CCTV drainage surveys
Identifying defects and recommending appropriate remedial works
Completing descaling, root cutting and general drainage maintenance
Conducting flow and dye testing
Accurately completing electronic job reports
Taking clear photographs and recording findings
Keeping the vehicle and equipment clean, safe and well maintained
Communicating professionally with customers and site contacts
Participating in the company’s on-call rota

Essential Requirements

Previous drainage industry experience
Full UK driving licence
Experience using high-pressure water jetting equipment
Ability to investigate drainage problems and identify faults
Good written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable using mobile applications to complete job reports
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable, punctual and professional
Willingness to undertake out-of-hours and weekend work as required
Experience with CCTV surveying, Picote machinery, patch lining, tankers or confined-space working would be advantageous, although additional training may be provided.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and wants to learn a skilled trade. **Previous drainage experience is not required**, as full training will be provided.

You'll work alongside experienced drainage engineers while learning how to investigate, clear, maintain and repair drainage systems across a variety of domestic and commercial sites.
