We’re looking to add a few good subbies to our regular list.

Mainly looking for plasterers, renderers and brickies just now, although happy to hear from other trades too.

Not looking for the cheapest guy on Facebook—just reliable trades who turn up, know what they’re doing and leave a decent job behind them. If we work well together, there should be plenty more work going forward.

Seems like yesterday me and 2 Planks Ltd - Joinery & construction were taking the old fire damaged roof down on Boleskine house. Impressive transformation!

The category B-listed property was gutted by a fire in 2015 and a subsequent blaze in 2019.

Onwards and upwards!

Over the past 3 years, we’ve grown from a team of 2 to 8, entirely through word of mouth, repeat business, and building strong relationships with local architects. A huge thank you to everyone who’s trusted us along the way.

That growth has brought us to an important point — we’re now moving into a more structured way of operating, with full-time management in place to support the projects we’re delivering.

For me, that means stepping away from being on the tools day-to-day and focusing fully on estimating, project coordination, and working closely with clients and architects to deliver projects properly from start to finish.

What does that mean in practice?

- Faster response times
- Quicker turnaround on quotes and tenders
- Better communication throughout projects
- A smoother overall experience for our clients

It’s a big step, and one we’re proud of — and it wouldn’t have been possible without the effort from the whole team.

Here’s to the next stage.

(Although I’ll still be jumping on a mini digger now and then…)

From 1 April 2026, Building Warrant fees will increase in line with the latest legislation from the Scottish Government. Information on the new rates, including the updated cost of works guide, is available on the Building Standards webpage https://orlo.uk/jpnUO

Applications received before this date that are invalid or where the full fee has not been paid, will be subject to the new fees.
