FOR SALE: 1950 JAGUAR XK120 ALLOY

Completed in February 1950, this is one of the original 240 alloy-bodied Jaguar XK120s.

Supplied new to Belgium, with paperwork dating back to 1955, it was bought by noted racer and collector Peter Sugden in 1966 and retained by him until we bought it in 2025.

Restored in the 2000s, it runs a Sigma-built 3.8-litre engine, triple Weber carburettors, rack-and-pinion steering, and an all-synchro gearbox. This exceptionally fast, storied XK120 is blisteringly quick on road and track.

Robert Coucher famously described Veloce as “the greatest track day on Earth”.

Hosted by Damon Hill and Derek Bell at Goodwood on Wednesday 2 September, this year’s event saw Tony Purnell’s Jaguar C-Type enjoy some spirited laps in the hands of the 1996 Formula One World Champion.

Look out for next month’s issue of Octane, which tells the story of the car and the Purnell family’s quest to restore it.

Organised by Chris Bucknall and the team at V Management, Veloce brings together iconic cars and a legendary driver line-up in support of good causes, raising more than £1 million to date.

Day 2 at the Hampton Court Concours of Elegance, with a look back at Day 1.

We’re honoured to have been asked to support two clients competing at this year’s Concours.

On display were two very different, but equally special, cars: the one-of-one 2007 Aston Martin V12 Vantage RS Concept and an immaculately restored 1949 Jaguar XK120 Alloy.

A great first day in the grounds of Hampton Court Palace, with some very special cars, great food and, most importantly, great people.

Looking forward to another day of enjoying the cars and the company.

One month to go until the Bicester Scramble, where Pendine celebrates the Spirit of Adventure with a gathering of remarkable machines, led by two Second World War Jeeps fresh from an expedition across the Sahara.

The desert-worn Jeeps will be joined by a selection of other globe-trotting machines outside the Blast House. Visit Pendine at the Blast House.

This Aston Martin DB4 Series IV was displayed at the 1962 New York Motor Show.

Thought to be the only one finished in unique Rose Beige paint, it enjoyed a gilded life with first owner Lindley Paskus Esq.

Still in its New York show colour, this DB4 is lauded for being in “highly original condition”.

For Pendine, Monterey Car Week wasn’t just about the cars but our support of Rancho Cielo, a Californian based charity close to our hearts, who we have had the pleasure to work with for over a year.

Rancho Cielo has a Classic Car Restoration Programme that is a beneficiary of the charitable donations made to the Pebble Beach Foundation.

The owners of the Rolls-Royce Phantom II Continental shown on the lawn this year are the Hayward family - Bill Hayward is on the Rancho Cielo Board.

The participation of the Rolls-Royce at the Concours became a part of the educational programme with a number of events during Car Week that allowed students to interact with the car. Two recently graduated students were chosen to ride in the Phantom II Continental during the Tour d’Elegance on the Thursday before helping to prepare the car over the following days for display and presentation to the judges on the Sunday.

A story that goes full circle, highlighting how the charitable donations made to the Pebble Beach Foundation directly support outstanding local causes.

FOR SALE: 1956 Austin-Healey 100M - Fitted new by the factory with the full 'Le Mans Package'

Your route to the Mille Miglia centenary.

With the Mille Miglia celebrating its centenary in 2027, opportunities to enter the event in a genuinely significant, competition-derived sports car are becoming increasing

This 1956 Austin-Healey 100M offers exactly that: a genuine factory-built Le Mans package car, and importantly, Mille Miglia eligible.

Only 640 factory 100Ms were produced between 1955 and 1956. Developed directly from Austin-Healey’s competition programme, the 100M brought proven racing developments to the road, including a high-compression engine, high-lift camshaft, larger carburettors, cold-air box and uprated suspension.

Chassis BN2-L/232852 was built in May 1956 and is confirmed by its BMIHT certificate as a genuine factory 100M. Originally built in left-hand-drive North American export specification, it retains its matching-numbers configuration and was comprehensively restored by JME Healeys in 2017, with approximately 1,012 hours of work and £114,000 invested.

Since 2019, it has formed part of a significant UK collection and is accompanied by an extensive history file, restoration invoices, approximately 350 restoration photographs and a FIVA Identity Card.

For those looking for an exciting and financially compelling route into the Mille Miglia, this represents a particularly interesting proposition. A rare factory-built 100M with genuine event eligibility and the opportunity to take part in the centenary Mille Miglia in 2027.

This car is now available at our Bicester Motion showroom. View the full description, and a full gallery of images here: https://pendine.com/cars-for-sale/1956-austin-healey-100m/

A memorable few days on the Monterey Peninsula.

From evening drinks and the Tour d’Elegance to Rancho Cielo Education Day and Sunday on the Concours lawn, it has been a week shaped by exceptional cars, generous people and memorable experiences.

At its centre were the 1953 Jaguar Hansgen and 1934 Rolls-Royce Phantom II: two very different cars, each prepared so its owner could enjoy every part of the occasion with confidence.

Seeing Rancho Cielo students engaged with the cars added another dimension to the week, helping to introduce a new generation to the skills, stories and opportunities surrounding the historic-car world.

Our thanks to the owners, students, organisers and everyone who helped make the week possible.

The tenth of just 99 J2s built by Allard, this 1950 car was upgraded in period with a Cadillac V8 to give it the power and performance to win at Harewood and Shelsley Walsh hillclimbs.

It has been looked after by Allard experts RW Racing Services Ltd and the engine is fresh from a rebuild by Pace Historics, so it’s primed and ready for road or race use.

A rather special result from Pebble Beach.

The 1934 Rolls-Royce Phantom II by Freestone & Webb took third place in Class H at the 75th Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance – before receiving the Montagu of Beaulieu Trophy.

Donated by Lord Montagu in 1982, the trophy is awarded by a committee of Honorary Judges to the most significant car of British origin at the Concours.

Pendine was also proud to represent the 1953 Jaguar Hansgen Special at Pebble Beach. It now returns to the UK in time for the Goodwood Revival.
