I’ve spent the last two days gathering data from the greens on both courses. Percolation rates, root mass development and subsurface organic matter levels were all tested on each green on the old and new courses. The results were very positive overall with superb consistency found in all the tests carried out.

Third data visit of the year to see Phil Watson and continue with the data capturing from his greens to assist him with his maintenance plans going forward. Real signs of progress already with developing root systems, firmer surfaces and improved turf density now seen across the greens. Great work Phil and a pleasure to show Jordan the data process to give him a better idea of what’s happening below the surfaces.

First time visit to gather data from the greens for Colin Forbes. Excellent set of results gathered with superb consistency found across the testing process. Very clean profiles on show here reinforcing the excellent maintenance practices that Colin employs all year round. Beautiful bent grass surfaces were a treat to putt on when we played after testing. Thank you Colin for your hospitality and the chance to play the course which sits very well amongst the mature woodland.

Second visit of the year to see Ross Macrae and gather more data from his greens. Excellent set of results overall with mature links turf showing on the greens. Lots going on today with autumn renovation work being done solid tining, fescue over seeding and plenty clean sand to fill the holes to ensure the links grasses dominate the green surfaces for years to come. Great work lads.

My work now takes me all over the country and I visit and work on many superb courses none more so than The Trump golf links in Aberdeenshire. The conditioning and presentation on both courses is magnificent, a credit to Stevie, Eddie, Luke and all the green staff who look after both courses. Great work by all involved. Always a pleasure to come in and gather data from both courses.

Early morning visit to see Darren McKenna and gather data from his greens. Lots going on at the club at the moment with huge investment in resources on the golf course. Darren has the course in great shape overall.
