Incredibly proud of this little garden transformation down in Long Eaton. Created this beautiful woodland clearing underneath the dappled shade of the weeping Birch. Gorgeous selection of perennials from Sulney Nursery, beautiful flowers, elegant grasses and fantastically tactile ferns complement our natives. Good to see the Rivers edge mix from Meadowmania | Wildflowers Uk already starting to sprout around the pond!! Keeping everything contained with EverEdge, love how the brown just melts in. Thanks again to Ben from Guidance and Growth C.I.C. for all the help with the bench, it looks beautiful in the dappled light. Proper full circle moment for me this garden as I drove past my old bus stop my mate would drop me off at on my way home from college.

Just waiting for the rest of the plants to arrive and we’ve finished our transformation on this garden in long Eaton. Really happy with how the live edge habitat bench has turned out and it is the perfect place to relax and admire the pond. Took out the knackered trellises then strung up the green walls securely to allow for some breathing room beneath the canopy of this gorgeous weeping silver birch. Amazing how much you can pack into such a small space and still have it feel spacious and inviting.

Busy last couple of days down at our project in Long Eaton!! Live edge Larch creates such a beautiful seat for our habitat gabion bench, using recycled materials like bricks, tiles & copings we have created a very secure seat with loads of nooks and cranny’s for things to live in and recycled sleepers with bee holes and bark from the saw mill will provide nesting spaces. Then a beautiful wildlife pond with a mosaic of habitats, planting is all native and then seeded with Meadowmania | Wildflowers Uk’s rivers edge mix. Highland cobbles from CED Stone Group in four different grades to keep the colour harmonious and finally a bit of EverEdge to stop it spilling into the lawn! So happy I’ve finally rehomed all of the bees in the bee posts I took out of that job earlier in the year!!

All planted up now on this formal Victorian inspired front garden in Mapperly. Three very distinct zones each with its own conditions made this a bit of a tricky brief but the clients are very pleased with how it’s come together!! Pink and white flowers to complement the bark of the Beutla and wonderful leaves of the Prunus cerasifera. Loads of evergreens will provide winter interest for the clients and plenty of food and shelter for all the native wildlife!! Fagus Sylvatica ‘Atropupurea’ will hold onto its foliage over winter providing a beautiful contrast to the evergreens as well as become the perfect home for nesting birds! Can’t wait for this to all grow into itself and start to echo some of the grandeur of the house.

Mostly done now with our Victorian style garden. Keeping everything nice and formal in the front. Beautiful roses from David Austin Roses set the tone as soon as you enter the gate, under planted with classic fragrant plants to deter the pests and little lavender hedge to tie it all together. Going on to the formal border, mostly evergreen perennials (and ferns obviously) with some ephemeral flowers. Adding to the existing hydrangeas to from a lovely hedge backed by Hydrangea semannii, the evergreen climbing variety, the leaves of which compliment the existing laurel wonderfully. Then onto an evergreen shrubbery, some beautiful Rhododendron’s from UK Based Plant Wholesaler 🌱 really steal the show, underplanted with Vinca minor in all three colours to add a neat carpet with a little variety. This will be hedged in with Sarcococoa at the front then Fagus sylvatica ‘atropurpurea’ at the back. Gonna look cracking.

Cracking on today with this formal Victorian style front garden to complement the beautiful Victorian house. A rose garden, formal border then an evergreen shrubbery in front of a marcescent hedge. Some things still to arrive but looking good so far!!

This border in its full summer glory now. Love the way the Verbena Bonariensis ‘lollipop’ holds its flowers just over the top of the lavender giving us this wall of purple. Wonderful spires emerge in the Veronica and the Hydrangeas. Some things a little slower to emerge than I would like but the wildflowers are going off like the clappers thanks to all the pig manure.
