Another job complete 👌

4 internal pine doors, finished in a traditional 4-panel layout with Origin-style latch locks to keep in with the character of this property.

All of the existing door frames were as old as the property itself, meaning nothing was quite level, square or true which made the installation a little more challenging! But that’s all part of the job when working with older properties.

Really enjoyed fitting some internal doors for a change. Another happy customer and it’s on to the next one! 💪🔨

Another built-in storage cabinet completed, designed and manufactured to our customer’s requirements.

Made using oak veneer MDF with a contrasting iron edging band, push-to-open doors and concealed hinges for a clean, seamless finish.

We finished the oak with Rubio Monocoat White, which really lifts the natural grain while giving the timber a sleek, modern look.

Really happy with how this one turned out and even happier that the customer is over the moon with the result! 👌

Manufacture and installation on site of four bespoke European oak kingpost trusses, complete with boxed oak beams to conceal the existing steel ridge beam.

Each truss was traditionally constructed using mortise and tenon joints, secured with solid oak dowels to give an authentic, traditional finish while maintaining strength and longevity.

The installation itself came with its challenges, as we had to work beneath an already completed timber roof, making access and fitting particularly tricky. But with careful planning and plenty of patience, we got everything fitted into place.

European oak is such a rewarding and forgiving material to work with, and we really enjoyed bringing these trusses together on site.

Really happy with the finished result it’s a proper traditional feature that will hopefully stand the test of time.

Here’s a recent bespoke bookcase that we manufactured and built completely on site.
We always like to involve the customer as much as possible throughout the design process, making sure the finished piece is truly bespoke and tailored to exactly what they’re looking for.
The brief was for a paint finish with a visible grain detail, so we used veneered MDF to achieve the desired effect. Adjustable shelving keeps the piece practical, while the frame detailing has been designed to match an existing piece within the house, tying everything together nicely.
The customers were absolutely over the moon with the finished result, and it was a project I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish.
Onto the next one! 👌

First attempt at a painted secret door with a book latch mechanism definitely a bit of a head-scratcher, but got there in the end! 🔨 The customer wanted it to feel original to the property, so I matched the detailing to the existing fireplace, keeping everything in keeping with the character of the house. Made from MDF and finished ready for paint. Really chuffed with the result — can’t wait for the next one! 💪🔨

Another bespoke understairs shoe drawer cabinet manufactured and installed by Ironside Joinery.

Built with a shaker-style front and push-open catches to keep everything clean and handleless, creating a practical storage solution with easy access to all your footwear.

Really enjoyed making this one. Angled understairs projects always bring their own challenges, but the finished result makes the most of what would otherwise be wasted space.

General building work is all part of what we do here at Ironside Joinery too. 👌

Here’s a full roof restoration we’ve recently completed, transforming a leaking flat felt roof into a low-pitched cut roof, set at 13°, and finished with Marley Modern 12.5 tiles.

To keep maintenance to a minimum, we also fitted new white uPVC fascias, soffits and guttering, complete with leaf guards to help prevent blockages from the overhanging trees.

Really enjoyed getting stuck into something a bit different on this one. On to the next project. 💪

New Bespoke media wall completed by Ironside Joinery. Our customer came to us with an AI-generated image they absolutely loved, and it was our job to bring it to life. Seeing an idea on a screen transformed into a real, handcrafted piece is one of the best parts of what we do. We matched the design with classic shaker MDF doors, paired with warm European oak to bring a natural warmth and contrast to the room. The floating oak shelves and fireplace mantel are finished with discreet LED lighting underneath, giving a clean, modern look that really comes alive in the evening.We’ve now handed it over ready for decorating and the final second-fix electrics, and we can’t wait to see the finished result.
A brilliant project from start to finish for another great customer. Thanks for trusting us with your home.

The Domino DF 500 Lock Tenon System is a great bit of kit. I’ve used it on a few projects now and it’s quick, simple, and really easy to use. It’s a fast fixing method with no visible fixings, giving a clean, professional finish every time.

It’s very similar to the Lamello Zeta P2 system, so if you already own a Domino DF 500, I’d definitely recommend giving the Lock Tenon System a go. It’s a cost-effective way of achieving hidden mechanical joints without investing in another machine.
