🌱A pond tidy as part of a quarry office maintenance contract.

This pond needed a good tidy up after winter, with weeds removed, dead vegetation cleared and new oxygenated pond plants added.

Hopefully the resident Koi was happy!

❗️Invasive Species - Japanese Knotweed❗️

Quick facts:
1. Japanese knotweeds botanical name is Reynoutria japonica
2. It is a non-native species
3. It is considered invasive due to it's size, vigour and persistent strong-growing rhizomes
4. Due to it's invasive nature it is subject to various legal controls
5. Recognisable by it's asparagus like shoots appearing in spring.
6. In summer it is recognisable by it's spade shaped leaves which grow in zig zags along it's stems and tall, main green stems with purple speckles.

We are fully qualified to deal with a range of weeds and invasive species.
