🌿 PROJECT NAGOMI — COMPLETE 🌿
So, what does Nagomi mean?
It means harmony and peace — and that perfectly sums up what we wanted to create here. 🧘♂️🌿
The start of this project was a major transformation. We began with a complete clearance — tackling brambles, felling trees, removing nettles and generally reclaiming the space to create a blank canvas for us to work with.
The customer had a few ideas, a limited budget, and three main requirements:
✨ Calm and relaxing
🔥 A fire pit area
🌿 Something completely different
So… what did I come up with?
I got to work planning and creating a Zen-inspired garden designed around tranquillity, texture and natural materials.
We created pathways using steel edging, with bark chippings from the original clearance being reused to form the beds and paths.
A lavender hedge now creates a beautiful border, with Red Rooster grasses behind it to add height and movement.
In the centre of the garden, we installed a steel archway and gate, leading through to a spiral herb garden, complete with a Green Lady planter at its centre. Once everything has fully established, this is going to look incredible! 🌱
We also hand-created woven hazel fencing to divide the garden and add another natural element.
Through the archway, on the left, you’ll find a handcrafted water feature, creating gentle ripples and adding another layer of calm to the space. Combined with the ferns, grasses and planting, it really brings the Zen feel to life.
And there’s more planting still to come! 🌸 Unfortunately, some of the plants have been delayed, but they’ll be going in soon — so keep an eye out for the update!
🔥 At the back of the garden is the fire pit area.
We built a feature wall to provide shelter from the wind, while also creating an Art Deco-inspired feature within the garden.
And one of my favourite details? A window built into the wall, giving you a view into the wild garden beyond — the perfect spot to sit, relax and watch the birds. 🐦
This garden really has to be seen in person because, honestly, the pictures don’t do it justice.
I’ve absolutely loved taking the customer’s ideas and turning them into something unique and completely their own.
From a jungle of brambles and nettles to a peaceful, relaxing Zen garden — what a transformation! 🌿🪨💧
Project Nagomi is complete… for now.
What do you think of the transformation?
