Bit of a dull afternoon for progress pictures BUT….i did it anyway! We’re working for NCL contractors dealing with the masonry repairs on the old school in Trowse. Shaun and the lads are doing a fantastic Job! Well done lads 👏

Progress update from St John’s Church.

The glazing is now being fitted by Devlin Plummer, including the stained glass, and it’s great to see another important part of the building coming back together.

Over in the vestry, the repointing is progressing well, all carried out in lime mortar, of course.

Stone repairs to the front doorway are also complete, finished with a tinted shelter coat to give the stone some added protection while retaining its character.

Plenty of traditional materials and careful conservation work going into this one.

A bit of traditional repair work in the sunshine ☀️

Lime mortar pointing going back into the brickwork, with the timber windows hand stripped ready for redecoration.

Nothing particularly fancy, just using the right materials and traditional methods for an old building, rather than trying to make modern products do a job they weren’t designed for.

Lovely work to be getting on with, although whoever ordered this heat could turn it down a notch. 🥵

The devil is in the detail! Paul and Taylor have been battling the temperatures to get this Georgian farmhouses living rooms replastered, preserving the details but not making it look “pastiche”.

The rooms were clad in a plastic board, gypsum on top of lime 🙈, the brickwork was saturated!

I’m sure the “damp experts” would have tanked it 🤮

I won’t show too much for now because we’re editing a before, during and after video of the process once the room is dressed.
