Restoring character, one joint at a time.

This decorative gable featured weathered mortar joints and areas of deterioration that were beginning to affect both appearance and weather resistance.

Using traditional methods, we carefully raked out defective mortar and repointed the brickwork to match the character of the original building while preserving its unique architectural details.

Heritage and period properties deserve repairs that respect the original craftsmanship.

Not every wall can be repaired.
This section of masonry had deteriorated to the point where it was no longer structurally sound and required careful dismantling before rebuilding could begin.

Working on older and listed buildings often reveals hidden issues once the structure is opened up. The key is understanding what can be saved, what needs replacing, and carrying out the work in a way that respects the original building while restoring its structural integrity.
Sometimes the strongest repair is a rebuild.

Cracks above a window are often a sign of a failed or inadequate lintel.

This project involved installing a new structural lintel, stabilising the brickwork above, and supporting the affected floor joists.
