What was once a downstairs WC and pantry has been transformed into a practical, accessible wet room by the Candour team. 🔨

Designed with mobility and everyday comfort in mind, the new space features a level-access shower with a linear drain, fold-down shower seat and grab rail.

Finished with large-format stone-effect tiles, a recessed shower niche and an illuminated mirror, creating a bright, practical space without compromising on the overall finish.

Being an older property, this one came with LOTS of preparation work behind the scenes, but we’ll save that for another post!

Really pleased with how this one has come together.

A bathroom renovation we handed over in the summer as part of our Georgian villa renovation project in Kenninghall.

This room was fully upgraded throughout, including insulation to the external walls, reinforcement and re-insulation of the floor, electric underfloor heating, plus a new traditional sash window.

Finished with Carrara Bianco marble tiles from Quorn Stone, traditional brassware, a wall-hung smart toilet, a walk-in shower with built-in bench and illuminated niche, Farrow & Ball colours, plus a hand-crafted traditional vanity unit supplied by the client.

A really well-balanced room, keeping the traditional character while adding the comfort and performance expected from a modern bathroom.

A little sneak peek of a bathroom we’ve recently handed over.

Here’s a glimpse of the shower enclosure before we share the full project. Fully finished photos will follow once the decorating is complete, so watch this space.

From an old torch-on flat roof to a bespoke curved standing seam zinc roof.

A complete transformation, showcasing the process from demolition through to the finished result.

A big thank you to for the excellent zinc work.

Smooth walls, clear progress. ✔️

Tiling starts soon.

A little progress update from one of our current bathroom projects in a beautiful Georgian villa.

Over the last couple of weeks we’ve stripped the room back, rebuilt and levelled the floor, completed the plumbing first fix, insulated the external walls with insulated plasterboard, and started bringing the new layout to life.

It’s one of those projects where a lot of the work won’t be seen once it’s finished, but getting these stages right makes all the difference to the end result.

Next up is plastering, tile backer boards, and tanking the wet areas before we can start tiling.

Slowly but surely it’s starting to look like a bathroom again rather than a building site!

No machinery cut this. No factory shaped it. No template measured it.

This is a hand-cut mortise and tenon joint — the kind of joinery that has held oak-framed buildings together for six centuries.

The tolerances you're looking at? Sub-millimetre. The process? Auger drill, sharp chisel, mallet. The satisfaction when it closes tight? Indescribable.

We don't rush this. We can't rush this.

This is Candour craftsmanship. This is what we mean when we say we build standards, not just spaces.
