It’s fair to say the planting in this courtyard garden really took off this summer. Some might say the Verbena took over but as the other perennials die back in Autumn the Verbena flowers will dance above in the breeze and the low sunlight will set off the luminous purple florets. So pretty 🤩

A little series of before and after photos from a project earlier this year. A small garden with lots to pack in. A large patio for entertaining, privacy from overlooking neighbours, new lawn and play area, office entrance, the wish list was long and the garden was small but we still managed to keep our client happy by ticking all the boxes.

Sorry we’ve been quiet on here. It’s been a challenging long wet winter for but we’ve been chipping away at the projects in between the drizzle 🌧️ , intermittent showers ☔️ , heavy rain 💦 oh and of course some apocalyptic storms ⛈️ Anyone else looking forward to Summer?

We design bespoke gardens for our clients. This means we take the time to listen to what they want and come up with creative designs with personal touches or features that are unique to their garden. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and delivering the highest quality finish. We can build a simple rectangular patio, lay a rectangular lawn and plant a rectangular border but we like our gardens to stand out and our clients to be proud of what we have created together, taking their initial ideas and using our design flair to make amazing spaces. Here are some examples of what bespoke means to us.

Last week I revisited a site that we completed in November 2022. The last thing we did back then was the planting and then unfortunately we had a really harsh winter ❄️ which took its toll on some of the juvenile plants. So my job was to patch in with new plants (198 to be precise) so that eventually the end result will be a beautiful full and flourishing border. We’ll get there with a little more patience 🤞🏼

Yesterday we had to say goodbye to our beautiful Snoop. He’s been a part of the Mudworks team for the last 13 years and we are very sad to have lost such a special member of our family. RIP Snoop dog 🖤🖤🖤

Take a look at this super cool social space in a garden we recently completed. The canvas was well and truly blank in this tucked away corner of a new build garden but it had great proportions. We managed to create a versatile space that allowed for open and sheltered entertaining “whatever the weather” ☀️ 🌧️
We hope our client has been getting lots of use of this great entertaining space so far this summer.

One year on and the Photinia hedges are thickening up, the Corten steel planter has taken on it’s natural rusty appearance which contrast beautifully with the vibrant greens of the Box balls and Crocosmia drifts 🌱 And as for the statement parasol Mulberry trees, well they just continue to frame the entrance to this statement garden effortlessly 👏🏼
