Not every leak is caused by just one fault…
This Lay-Z-Spa pump came in with a leak from the base.
After stripping the pump down, I found the impeller and pump seals had failed, so these were replaced. The pump was fully reassembled, pressure tested and everything appeared perfect.
However, a few hours after returning it to the customer, another leak developed.
Rather than guessing, I brought the pump back to my workshop and left it running on my test rig for several hours until the leak showed itself.
This time, I discovered the heater element seals had also failed. These seals were replaced, the heater reassembled and the pump was left running for an extended period to make sure there were no further leaks.
This is exactly why I never cut corners. Sometimes a pump can have more than one fault, and the second issue only becomes apparent after the first has been repaired.
Another happy customer, and another pump saved from being replaced. 💪
