🚗 Project Spotlight: A46 Newark to Widmerpool Improvement 🚗

We’re proud to have supported Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering Ltd and Aecom in delivering Highways England’s ambitious upgrade of the A46 corridor. This major scheme involved the construction of a new 17-mile dual carriageway, easing congestion and improving safety for communities from Widmerpool to Newark.

ABM Precast Solutions supplied:

✅ 17 Y6 bridge beams

✅ 31 TY8 bridge beams

✅ 36 Y8 bridge beams

✅ 19 Y4 bridge beams

Each beam was precision-manufactured and delivered to meet the demanding schedule and technical requirements of this multi-phase project. The new bridges now form a vital part of the upgraded route, supporting smoother travel and enhanced safety for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians alike.

🚧 Project Highlight: Cudworth & West Green Bypass 🚧

We’re proud to have supported VHE Construction PLC in delivering the award-winning Cudworth & West Green Bypass, a project designed to ease congestion on the A628 and improve access to local employment sites. This transformative scheme included the construction of 5.2km of new carriageway, five roundabouts, multiple bridges and underpasses, and major drainage works.

ABM Precast Solutions supplied:

✅ 36 M5 Bridge Beams

Each beam was precision-engineered and delivered to meet the demanding programme, supporting the installation of a 110-tonne rail bridge.

The bridge was lifted into place by an 800-tonne crane and installed in just 30 minutes during a 28-hour rail possession, testament to the power of collaboration and offsite manufacturing.

The project was recognised with the Institution of Civil Engineers Yorkshire & Humber Centenary Award for Excellence, highlighting the impact and quality of the work delivered.
