Recently, our SHEQ team took office-based colleagues and representatives from G4S Facilities Management out on site as part of our 'Away From The Desk' initiative 👷‍♂️👷‍♀️

Designed to provide greater insight into our operational activities, the tour gave attendees the opportunity to see first-hand the scale, complexity and progress being delivered across the HPC project 🏗️

Led by Steve Templeman, our Dewatering Operations Manager, the group visited key operational areas across site, including locations beneath the iconic Big Carl and the HPX building, gaining a valuable understanding of Turnbull's role in supporting the wider site operation.

The tour provided attendees with:

🔹 Greater insight into our operational activities

🔹 A better understanding of the scale and complexity of the project

🔹 First-hand experience of the important work delivered by our teams every day

🚧 Overcoming challenges through teamwork, expertise and precision 💧

Recently, our Dewatering Team successfully installed an emergency pump 30 metres below ground level to keep the second pump house dry and ensure construction activities could continue without interruption.

This was no ordinary installation. With no direct access or visibility to the pump location, the team had to carefully position and install the pump from 30 metres above. It was a complex operation that required meticulous planning, technical expertise and seamless collaboration 👷‍♂️

Working alongside HPC FRS, Bylor and Selwood Ltd, who provided the emergency pump, our team remained calm, focused and committed to delivering the task safely and efficiently.

By maintaining the highest standards of health and safety throughout, the installation was completed successfully, preventing flooding from impacting key project milestones ✅

A huge thank you to everyone involved. Your professionalism, teamwork and dedication are a fantastic example of what can be achieved when we work together to overcome even the most demanding challenges 👏

Yesterday's Women@Work session created space for honest conversations, shared experiences and future opportunities 💙

We discussed the challenges many women continue to face, including the invisible mental load, balancing career ambitions with home and family life, and the importance of finding time to switch off.

We also explored opportunities for the future, from industry and role mentoring to creating greater visibility of the diverse careers available across our business.

💬 The session was also an opportunity to meet with James Dryden, ask questions, share experiences and discuss how we can continue creating an environment where women feel heard, supported, respected, listened to and included.
