The line of plastic greenhouses looked a bit tipsy today, even though they were framed with wood to keep them upright. It’s been so stormy, the whole bank had shifted forward dislodging a couple of seedtrays.

I thought the best way to protect them was to fill a few buckets of water & place them at the back - I’m hoping that should do the trick. 🙂

I don’t think it’s been wet like this for a long time. 🚢

Everything is soaking but now at least the pots can drain, if it’s not too much heat, it’s too much wet. But the rain has definitely rejuvenated a lot of plants. Some of the near-death spiraeas have started sprouting.

Next year I should have some lovely large plants, perfect for establishing a cutting patch.

If you want to pop in a few perennials, it’s a great time as the soil is still fairly warm (it’s also definitely wet enough!)

I’ve got a few erigeron/fleabane & verbena - lolly (that’s the short one) and bonariensis (tall) @ £7 each.

Let me know if there’s anything else you might like (quite a fewof the larger garden centres are concentrating on Christmas at the mo.)

I will admit I bought a load of black net to try to foil the heat and it failed. But it’s good stuff to cover & protect crops.

Because I truly appreciate your follows & friendships, just call me if you want some.*

I’m clearing out the huge fally-down (that’s not a brand name) greenhouse and will probably be here most of the day.

Pickup from middle gate at Wolverton Rd allotments (just up from the Rocket park.)

Happy Sunday! We’re so glad we didn’t trim the ivy, there’s an amazing amount of pollinators on plot this morning. 🤗
