This crack in the plaster would reappear through the wallpaper, no matter what steps were taken by my customer/decorator.
Until now!
I removed the bad section, took steps to prevent it happening again and re finished the whole of the wall.

Ok so
There’s been damp issues in this house for years, mortar failing, plaster falling off, you could inject dpc but it’s really worth checking the wall cavity.

After removing bricks to check the cavity you’ll see in the second photo debris inside the cavity up to and beyond the existing and intact dpc course, this allows damp to reach bricks above the dpc causing damage over time.

In the third photo you’ll see the brick at the far end of the wall cavity after the debris has been removed.
