Another shower switch replacement completed after the original switch had burnt out and stopped working.

🔎 On investigation, the issue was caused by the incorrect cable size being used for the shower load, resulting in the cable and switch overheating.

A simple switch replacement could have been done, but without finding the underlying fault, the problem would have remained — and potentially become a serious electrical safety issue. ⚠️

This is exactly why electrical work should be carried out by a competent, qualified electrician. It’s not always just about replacing what’s broken — it’s about finding why it failed in the first place.
