We recently completed this solar and battery installation in Walderslade, Chatham, Kent and it features:

✅ 14 Aiko 480W all-black solar panels
✅ Fox 6kW hybrid inverter
✅ Fox EP12 11.52kWh battery

The 6.72kWp solar system generates electricity throughout the day while excess energy is stored in the battery ready to use later in the evening.

It’s a simple idea: make more use of your own electricity and rely less on the grid.

A battery can be charged from the grid during cheaper overnight periods then used to help power your home during the day when electricity is usually more expensive.

This can be particularly useful for homeowners who already have an EV charger or access to an off-peak electricity tariff.

Whether battery storage is right for you will depend on your tariff, energy usage and the size of system required but solar panels aren’t essential.

The larger unit is the inverter which manages the flow of electricity between the grid, battery and your home.

The units on the right store electricity from solar panels (or cheaper overnight electricity from the grid) ready to use during the day.

You don’t necessarily need solar panels to benefit either.

4x 480W solar panels feed into a Fox 3.6kW inverter and 5.76kWh of battery storage - this is where the electricity actually gets stored, so power generated during the day is still there to use once the sun's gone down.

It's the reason a small domestic system can do this much: it's not just generating power, it's holding onto it.
