⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ANOTHER WONDERFUL 5-STAR GOOGLE REVIEW! 🐀❤️

Sometimes pest control is about much more than dealing with unwanted visitors. It’s about helping people feel comfortable, reassured and safe in their own homes again.

We recently received this absolutely lovely review from a customer who contacted us feeling overwhelmed by a pest problem.

From the initial investigation through to the final follow-up visit, our priority was to explain everything clearly, provide detailed reports and make sure the household’s children and pets were carefully considered throughout.

A massive thank you to Trudy for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback. Reviews like this mean an enormous amount to a small, independent Cornish business. 💚

🐀 When the rats keep coming back, repeating the same treatment isn't always the answer.

Recurring rodent activity can involve far more than the area where the animal is eventually seen. Entry points, building defects, service routes, voids and drainage can all form part of the investigation.

At Perish-A-Pest, our approach is evidence-led: inspect the environment, identify the evidence, investigate potential routes, treat where appropriate and recommend practical measures to reduce recurrence.

The important question isn't always simply “How do we get rid of the rat?” Sometimes it's: “How is it getting in?” 🔎

What's beneath the surface can completely change a pest investigation.

Drainage and below-ground structures can contain defects, redundant connections and potential routes that simply aren't visible from inside a property.

That's why recurring problems sometimes need more than another treatment — they need the source properly investigated.

🍏 A clue that's difficult to ignore…

Food damage can tell us a lot, but one piece of evidence should never be looked at in isolation. Where was it found? What access is nearby? Are there droppings, tracks, smears or other signs? Where could an animal be travelling from?

Pest management is a bit of detective work — build the evidence first, then decide what action is actually needed.

🎉🐀 BIG NEWS FROM PERISH-A-PEST! 🐀🎉

A massive congratulations to our soon-to-be new team member, who has officially PASSED HER PEST MANAGEMENT EXAM — FIRST TIME! 👏🏼🥳

We’re keeping her identity under wraps for a little while longer, so you’ll have to bear with us before the proper introduction… 👀😂

There have been plenty of evenings studying, going through pest biology, identification, legislation, safe working practices and real-life scenarios together — and all that hard work has paid off. First attempt. Passed. ✅

I’m incredibly proud of her. ❤️

Passing the exam is an important milestone, but we’re not treating a certificate as the finish line. The next stage is more training, practical experience and time working alongside me, learning how we actually investigate and manage pest problems in the real world.

Because at Perish-A-Pest, we don’t want somebody who simply knows which product to use. We want our team to understand the pest, its behaviour, the evidence, the environment, the risks and why a particular solution is appropriate.

Once that experience is in place, she’ll be joining Perish-A-Pest full time. 💚❤️

For our customers, that means more capacity, more availability, more services and an even stronger Perish-A-Pest.

We’ve grown enormously over the last few years, and we’re continuing to invest in training, equipment and new services so we can support more homes, businesses, farms and organisations across Cornwall.

This isn’t about becoming the biggest pest-control company. It’s about becoming better at what we do while keeping the standards, personal service and values that built Perish-A-Pest in the first place.

For now, our mystery team member remains exactly that… a mystery. 😂🤫

But today is about her achievement.

Passed first time. Absolutely smashed it. And I couldn’t be prouder. ❤️👏🏼

Watch this space — there’s plenty more coming from Perish-A-Pest. 👀🐀

👀 Would you have spotted this during a quick walk around a property?

Small openings around the fabric of a building can be significant when investigating pest activity. The important bit isn't simply seeing a hole — it's working out where it leads, whether it's accessible from elsewhere and whether the evidence supports it being part of the problem.

Investigation before assumption. 👍🏼

Not every pest-control job is glamorous… 😂

Sometimes getting to the cause means getting into the places nobody else particularly wants to investigate.

Voids beneath and around buildings can hide access routes, old services and defects that aren't obvious from the occupied areas above. That's why a proper inspection matters.

Find the evidence. Follow the route. Work out why it's happening.

👀 Something new is coming to Perish-A-Pest…

We’ve been pretty busy behind the scenes.

We keep investing in Perish-A-Pest — expanding the team, developing our knowledge and qualifications, improving our equipment and continually looking for better ways to investigate and manage pest problems.

And we’ve just made another significant investment. 👀

Over the forthcoming weeks, we’ll be introducing a new capability to our pest-management service — giving us another way to investigate problems that can sometimes be difficult to reach, see or fully understand.

The best bit?

We’ve invested in it for our customers — not as another extra to add to their bill.

It won’t be needed on every job, but when the circumstances call for it, we’ll have another very useful piece of technology at our disposal.

We’re not revealing everything just yet… 😉

Any guesses what we’ve been up to?

🔎 Sometimes the clue isn't inside the property at all.

When investigating recurring pest activity, the outside of a building matters just as much as the inside. Drainage, service routes, gaps around structures and the surrounding environment can all form part of the picture.

Good pest management is about finding the route — not simply dealing with what turns up at the other end.

As the weather starts to turn, it’s important to protect stored grain from rodents. 🌾🐀

Farm assurance schemes are no longer accepted as proof of competence for purchasing professional-use rodenticides.

To continue protecting your grain, feed and buildings, you’ll need CRRU-approved rodenticide training or the support of a professional pest controller.
