Tree planting at brookvale wood 🪵
Two National Forest planting days are listed at Brookvale Wood in Groby, Leicestershire, on Saturday 14 November 2026 and Saturday 27 February 2027.
Visitors choose and plant a sapling from a range of native broadleaf species, and learn about the history and vision of the National Forest along the way. Since the early 1990s, millions of trees have been planted across 200 square miles of the midlands, once one of the least wooded parts of the country. It is an encouraging sign for woodland across the East Midlands.
The walk to the planting field takes around 20 minutes over uneven grassy paths, which can be very muddy at times, and the listing states no refunds. Our article sets out what to expect, so it is worth a read before you book.
