Another home off oil and onto a heat pump 🙌

We replaced the existing oil boiler with a 14kW Mitsubishi Ecodan Zubadan air source heat pump, designed and installed to meet the heating requirements of the property.

Being off the gas grid also meant the customer qualified for the £9,000 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant, helping towards the cost of making the switch.

From heat loss calculations and system design through to installation and commissioning, the REN team took care of the full process.

Vaillant heat pump breakdown 🔧

We were called out to this Vaillant heat pump after the system had broken down and left the customer without heating.

After diagnosing the fault, we first tried to resolve the issue without replacing any parts, but unfortunately the circulator pump had failed and needed to be replaced.

New pump fitted, system checked and tested, and everything is now back up and running as it should be. 🙌 Vaillant UK

🕷️ Yes… even the spider webs get cleaned!

A heat pump service is about much more than checking that the system is running. We thoroughly inspect and clean the outdoor unit, removing dirt, debris and even the cobwebs that build up inside over time.

Keeping the unit clean helps maintain good airflow, gives us a clear view of the components and allows us to spot any potential issues before they become bigger problems.

This recent service definitely gave us plenty to clean! 🕸️😅

After ➡️ Before 🔧

A great example of how much difference a well-planned cylinder replacement can make.

The existing cylinder had reached the end of its life, so we replaced it while retaining the existing Samsung heat pump system. The new cylinder was installed, the system components transferred across and the pipework tidied and insulated — leaving a much cleaner, more accessible setup.

Oil boiler servicing isn’t always glamorous… but keeping heating systems safe, efficient and reliable is what matters 🔧

A couple of recent oil boiler services for the REN team - from domestic systems to larger plant rooms, we’re happy working on a wide range of oil-fired heating equipment.

Regular servicing can help identify problems early, improve efficiency and reduce the risk of unexpected breakdowns when you need your heating most.

Not what you want to find during a heat pump service… 👀

This strainer had definitely been doing its job! A good reminder of why regular servicing and system checks matter - catching restrictions like this before they start affecting flow, efficiency and performance.

A little clean can make a big difference. 🔧
