My Fluke T5-1000 — bought back in 2007 during the first year of my apprenticeship — has been with me through countless jobs, fault finds, installs, and long days on site.

A good tool earns its place over time.

Fresh replacement test leads fitted today. Simple upkeep for a meter that’s seen years of real work and still gets used regularly.

Zennio Bin-T 8x modules installed with DIN rail terminals in discreet but fully accessible remote locations across the property.

These units are the backbone of the input layer — receiving signals from the PLH Neo switches (install to follow) and distributing commands across a fully integrated KNX system.

Progression of the main distribution board termination.

Starting point — a full cupboard of unstructured cables following install.

Circuits identified, separated, and routed to their respective boards and containment.

Equipment installed, positions finalised, and cable lengths managed to suit final termination.

Dressing carried out in stages to maintain access, grouping, and clear identification throughout.

Final stage shows the system at ~95% complete — all major terminations in, layout established, and ready for final checks and completion.

From unorganised install to structured, serviceable distribution.

Centralised, accessible, and laid out with future maintenance in mind.

All drivers mounted cleanly with clear segregation between circuits, and enough slack left for safe removal and replacement without disturbing terminations.

Neat cable routing throughout keeps everything identifiable and serviceable — no guesswork later.

One of those areas no one sees… but it matters most when you’re back on site.

Resistance readings taken before covering, with cable spacing and layout checked to ensure even heat distribution.

Once buried, access is gone — everything confirmed at this stage.

Best practice is to strip and loop through conductors prior to the flooring being laid.

Allows full testing while access is clear and removes uncertainty later — you never quite know when you’ll return to second fix a floor box.

Preparation now avoids assumptions later.
