Removed Halogen/transformer down lights & replaced with Collingwood Lighting Ltd 230v 4.4W warm white integral LED down lights which are Fire rated & IP rated, as well as fully dimmable, making them perfect for installing in all settings! (Varilight vPro dimmer module installed. One of the best dimmers on the market).
The difference in output from the old to new is literally like night & day. Cannot recommend highly enough…

Consumer unit replacement at a rental property. New 18th edition SPD/RCBO 10-way fusebox. Also installed a new socket circuit with extra sockets in the 2 bedrooms and an Aico Ei3028 Heat/CO detector in the Kitchen & an Aico Ei3016 optical smoke alarm in the Hallway so the property is now fully protected!

Same job as the 60 year fusebox. This was in the brick built shed, wrong size cable/fuses running the garage, power, lighting and an old electric hob/cooker!
All removed and replaced with a 4-way FuseBox mini mcb consumer unit backed up in the main consumer unit by the appropriate RCBO protection.

Extremely old fuse board with BS 88 & BS 1361 miniture fuses used for each circuit. I’d guess this was installed around 60 years ago and although still going strong was obviously not up to the current regs & standards! Replaced & tidied up with a 10 way FuseBox 18th edition consumer unit with individual RCBO protection to all circuits & Type 2 Surge Protection Device.

Another consumer unit replacement.
The original fuseboard was around 50 years old and the neutral screw on the load side of the main isolator had become loose and so began to arc. Over time this could have led to a fire which the Fire Brigade say is one of the most common electical fires they have to attend to (the other being from poorly installed down lights).

Recently discovered during an EICR on a house. The client had had the downlights replaced 6 months ago so the work should have been carried out to the latest regs but none of the CPC’s (earths) were connected at the junction boxes or the light fittings which are all metal and not double insulated, they’d even used the original white T&E cable to save themselves the time & cost of replacing a 12” strip!
Glad to say all lights & JB’s are now fully “earthed” up and safe!!
