Started with a proper dig-out — stripped back to sub-base level and corrected the falls.
The old steps were a mess: every riser a different height, treads cracked and pitching different ways, so rather than patch them we took them out completely, poured a new reinforced concrete core with rebar, and capped it with thick sandstone treads.
Retaining wall either side was solid, so that stayed untouched — just the steps got the full rebuild. Chingford job.
Sandstone from London Stone, laid random pattern, brush-jointed. Both inspection chambers got recessed covers dropped in and filled with matching stone — so instead of two grey plastic squares sat in the middle of your new patio, they just disappear into the paving.
