The allure and legend of the Gibson J-45 live on in the new Murphy Lab 1942 Banner J-45. Inspired by the holy grail of vintage acoustic instruments, luthiers in Montana meticulously crafted a J-45 just like the most popular and celebrated version in structure and components. The new 1942 Banner J-45 includes a Thermally Aged Adirondack red spruce top hand-sprayed with a historic-style burst, hot hide glue top bracing for better tonal response, and a bone nut and saddle. It features Light Aging by the skilled artisans of the Murphy Lab. The Murphy Lab Light Aged finish treatment, paired with lightly aged hardware, simulates decades of light play wear, giving it the unique character, vibe, and feel of an original example from the Gibson Golden Era.

Jake Kiszka, guitar luminary and founding member of rock ’n’ roll band Greta Van Fleet, has built his voice around fire, finesse, and a relentless devotion to artistry. His bond with his cherished 1961 SG is more than preference: it’s a kinship.

Now, the new Jake Kiszka SG Standard emerges as a testament to the instrument’s enduring legacy, a masterwork of mahogany and steel forged in the heart of Nashville.

This limited-edition model is a love letter to the iconic ’61 SG, designed to Jake’s specifications with a modified and locked Sideways Vibrola tailpiece, T-Type humbucker pickups, and a mahogany neck with a SlimTaper profile. A regular backplate is installed on the guitar, with a hand-signed and stamped backplate in the case, along with a custom leather strap boasting a Jake Kiszka-designed metallic coin pendant, featuring his symbol.
