Full clearance: brambles, self-seeded conifers, dead hedging and the leylandii boundary all taken out, waste removed, and every stump ground out so nothing comes back next spring.

As trees settle into winter dormancy, it's worth doing one final check around the garden. Make sure stakes and ties haven't cut into growing trunks, water deeply if the ground's been dry, and clear grass or weeds from around the base so nothing's competing for moisture through the colder months.

None of it takes long, but it makes a real difference to how healthy and resilient your trees are when spring finally returns.

📡 Pine tree height reduction & conifer hedge trim 🌲

Sometimes the job isn't about how the tree looks, it's about what it's blocking. This pine had grown up over the roofline and was sitting right in the path of the satellite signal, so the customer had been putting up with a dropping picture every time the wind got up.

We took the height out of the pine in controlled sections, keeping the tree healthy and balanced rather than just butchering the top, and reshaped it so it still sits nicely against the rest of the garden. While we were on site we also trimmed the conifer hedge, top and face. to tidy the boundary up and stop it creeping any further over the drive.

Signal back, hedge sharp, all waste chipped and taken away the same day. ✅

🌿 Laurel hedge removal & stump grinding

This laurel had taken over the whole front garden. Well over 12ft tall, blocking the light to the front of the house and swallowing half the driveway.

The customer wanted it gone completely, so we took the hedge down in sections, removed all the arisings, then brought the stump grinder in to take every stump out below ground level, no regrowth, no trip hazards, and the wall and beds left clear and usable again.
