Last week we finished up early on Friday and took the whole studio out for the next in our series of Goldstein Heather Architectural Walking Tours.

This time we walked London’s South Bank, starting at London Bridge and following the river west towards Waterloo, taking in More London, Hay’s Galleria, Bankside, Tate Modern, Millennium Bridge, Blackfriars, Oxo Tower Wharf, Henley Halebrown’s Barge Crescent, the National Theatre and the Southbank Centre, before finishing at The King’s Arms on Roupell Street.

A good chance to step away from the studio, look properly at the city around us and spend some time together as a team.

PLANNING APPROVED for this new five-bedroom family home in Chigwell, Essex.

The house takes its cues from the Arts & Crafts character of the area, combining lime render, warm red brickwork and clay tiles with a more contemporary approach to proportion, detailing and openings.

We’re looking forward to developing the technical design over the coming months and taking the project to site next year.

It is a huge honour to see the project recognised alongside some of the best new homes in the UK.

We’re very pleased to welcome Ed Oldridge to Goldstein Heather as a Part II Architectural Assistant.

Ed brings a thoughtful approach to design, with particular interests in contextual architecture, visual communication, craft, landscape and place.
