Bespoke Mount Kenya Shackleton Challenge complete.

The team successfully summitted the 5,199m peak on 23 August, after trekking through spectacular climatic zones as they gained altitude. Along the way were secluded waterfalls, cosy camps and excellent Kenyan food. After the mountain, a three day safari in Samburu Reserve brought some well-earned downtime. The team saw elephants, giraffes, cheetah and the elusive leopard.

“Tremendous experience - wonderful guides, great company and fun. So many Inspirational moments and I’d thoroughly recommend anyone to take on a tough mountain challenge with a great reward of making friends for life, while experiencing the culture wildlife and land of Kenya.” Praise indeed.

An absolute tragedy. Our sincere condolences go out to the colleagues, families, friends and communities of all the climbers killed in Pakistan in Thursday’s avalanche on Broad Peak.

Best known among the group was Nirmal ‘Nims’ Purja - a former British Special Forces operator and record-breaking mountaineer of incredible bravery, stamina and achievement whom the Shackleton team had the pleasure of knowing. An inspiration to millions; a life well lived.

For the first time in history, we have seen Quest beneath the waves.

Today, the final expedition ship of Sir Ernest Shackleton has revealed her secrets from 390 metres below the surface of the Labrador Sea.

As official expedition partner of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society’s Heroic Age Expedition, we are proud to be part of this historic moment - following a journey that began in 2024, when Shackleton’s Quest was located for the first time. Our co-founder Martin Brooks was part of that landmark expedition that rediscovered the wreck, and now we are witnessing the next chapter of her story unfold.

Captured for the very first time by deep-sea technology, these remarkable images reveal Quest resting on the seabed, her bow transformed into an underwater habitat, covered in corals and anemones and surrounded by marine life.

But the wreck also tells a more complex story. Abandoned fishing nets still drape her decks, a reminder of the lasting impact of human activity in even the most remote corners of our oceans.

A century after Shackleton walked her decks, Quest continues her role as a vessel of discovery - helping us understand exploration, conservation and the enduring legacy of those who venture into the unknown.

The expedition continues.

For the first time in history, we have seen Quest, Sir Ernest Shackleton’s last ship, beneath the waves.

Today, the final expedition ship of Sir Ernest Shackleton has revealed her secrets from 390 metres below the surface of the Labrador Sea.

Captured for the very first time by deep-sea technology, these remarkable images show Quest resting on the seabed - her bow now covered in corals and anemones, her structure providing shelter for a thriving community of marine life.

But the wreck also tells another story. Abandoned fishing nets still drape her decks, a reminder of the lasting impact of human activity in even the most remote corners of our oceans.

A century after Shackleton walked her decks, Quest continues her role as a vessel of discovery - helping us understand our shared history, and the future of the oceans she now calls home.

The expedition continues.
