One precious evening gathering with amazing creative minds. Hosted by leverden Korea , we had amazing food, amazing flower ([BDCD] 부띠크 드 까도] 부띠크 드 까도), amazing wine, and most importantly a relaxing meditation session (by Metta 맺다 명상 연구소 ). Some wellness power group is on the rise. ;)

leverden is a US/Korea based ritual scent group. Their resources are from ancient tribes, wilderness, and unknown destinations. Forget simple musk and flowers. The scent creates such a unique atmosphere. Thanks you 조소영 대표님!

Museum San (in Wonju) was one truly healing trip. Founded by Hansol Group’s Lee Inhee (Samsung family and 1st woman collector of art), the care and detail of the space were constantly impressive down to the invisible corners of the building. Compared to the wrongly “imported” Tadao Ando’s other buildings in Korea, this one had his original intention and quality of the architect fully executed. (I didn’t know Ando does sculptures). The collection was simply marvellous especially the paper gallery, which commemorates the founder’s paper company Hansol Jaeji as well as the impactful curation of Lee Bae’s work inside and outside. James Turrell’s 4 spaces were quite the climax of the museum, deeply hidden under the landscape. Because the guide did not allow photography, Turrell’s works were absolutely more enjoyable. (When is the last time we actually saw the art, and not just taking its photos?)

안도가 지은 한국의 빌딩들은 이때까지 실망이었지만, 뮤지움산 만은 그의 디테일과 열정이 그대로 실현 된 듯 하다. 사진을 찍지 않게 해서 더욱 감동적이었던 제임스터렐의 호라이즌 응. 안토니곰리를 위해 타다오안도가 설계한 콘크리트 돔, 내외부에 설치된 이베의 작품들…..공간은 기본으로 장엄하고, 컨텐츠는 한결 더 빛난 곳. 어떻게 이런 컬렉션이 한곳에 있나 했더니, 삼성가의 이인희 고문님이 맡으셨던 한솔재지의 paper gallery 컬렉션이 최고였음. 제1의 여성 컬렉터라 너무나도 존경스러웠다,
공간과 컨텐츠의 최고의 컴비라서 매 해 37만명이 찾는군…. 오너의 비젼과 ex*****on power, perfect collaboration.이 자아낸 맛있는 프로젝트 였다.

2 years of construction for 6 buildings in Soje-dong became an urban story by the . Speaking with the editor Yujyoung Bang was a precious time to rethink the projects in one narrative. It was not just about designing a photographic building, but planting a seed that would activate the Soje neighbourhood with ever changing culture. Could it possibly compete with Naoshima in the future? :)

What 3D models and AI cannot do:
Sunlight could be a source of nuisance in a gallery. But carefully controlled one can uplift the display. Using the skylight and carefully coordinated louver under, only the middle section of the floor gets an atmospheric sunlight while the walls remain neutral. This can be tested only in a real model.

디지털 모델이 절대 못하는 것: 내부의 자연광 스터디.
조그마한 빛 한 줄기도 잡으려면 실제 큰 스케일 모델이 필수이다. 현란한 빛의 계산을 해주는 많은 프로그램이 있지만 아직 손맛과 직접적인 빛의 효과를 못 따라간다. (아직 AI 가 건드리지 못하는 작은 영역이 있긴 하군).
