The fun is in the details 🫧

At Flourish House, the family home balances playful moments with a more refined material palette.

Take this little play nook: the angled entrance follows the line of the stair soffit, framed in timber and set into the wall. The geometry creates a small, house-like opening for the children to crawl into, play and make their own.

Thoughtful details that bring a little more joy to everyday family life.

The staircase at Flourish House brings together personal touches from the homeowners with the original character of the house.

Deep blue panelling follows the stair, paired with warm timber flooring and the original sash windows. It’s a modern intervention that sits comfortably alongside the history of the home.

Colour & character🎨

Looking back at Flourish House, the colour palette throughout the period home was carefully composed to reflect many characters and personalities within the family.

Blush pinks bring warmth, comfort and calm, while deep navy adds structure and depth. Soft blues tie the palette together, creating moments of contrast and connection from room to room.

A layered colour scheme for a layered family home🫧

Soaking up the last of summer 🌞

At Clay House, the rear doors create a seamless connection between the extension and raised patio, with sliding doors that disappear into the wall to effortlessly extend the living space outdoors during the warmer months.

When closed, the glazing maintains a strong visual connection with the garden, while allowing natural light and warmth to flood the space throughout the winter.

The kitchen 🥣

For this project, we collaborated with PLYKEA Plywood Kitchens to carry the exterior’s terracotta palette through into the kitchen, bringing warmth, depth and earthy tones into the heart of the home.

The rich, grounding colours balance the light and open space, creating a kitchen that feels equally at home in cosy winters and long Mediterranean feeling summers☀️

Where form follows function✨

At Clay House in East London, the angled end-of-terrace plot became the starting point for the chamfered rear extension.

The extension follows the existing boundary while carefully working around a manhole in the garden, turning a constraint into an opportunity. The resulting geometry creates a generous interior while giving the home its distinctive form.

A reminder that the limitations of a site can often be the starting point for the most interesting design decisions!

Light filled spaces was a key part of the brief for Clay House in East London. The rear extension makes the house deep so ensuring the central zone remains light and airy was essential. The rear doors align with large overhead roof lights flooding the space with light all year round🌞

The ensuite at Sunflower House continues the home’s calm material palette with creamy handmade zellige tiles, warm oak accents and built-in shower niches that keep the space beautifully uncluttered.

Simple, tactile and timeless, it’s a space designed for moments of pause at the beginning and end of each day.
