Thanks to MediArb Ltd for sending us these fantastic ICE signs for our vehicles.

When working in remote locations, preparation can save lives in the event of an emergency.

These ICE signs do exactly that.

Tree work related incidents can occur so quickly, resulting in serious injury. These shock situations can leave us panicked, and disorientated. Searching for a risk assessment with the exact location can become a difficult task in the heat of the moment.

To have all the relevant information pin to the side of the truck is vital in these situations.

The Husqvarna UK X-COMS are absolutely priceless on Chainsaw training courses here at Ground Up.

Here a team carrying out their Felling Trees Over 380mm course were taking advantage of the clear communication with each other.

wychwood tree surgeons Get his hung up tree out on last weeks CS32 Felling Trees Over 380mm course.

With the right tools, and the right equipment rolling out hung up trees shouldn’t be a struggle.

Here, Dean removed the hinge from the near side, and left a remaining 10% of holding wood on the far side, relative to the direction of roll.

leaving the 10% of hinge allows the tree to pivot over, whilst remaining attached to the stump.

Here a large Cant hook was utilised to assist with the roll out.

The Husqvarna UK X-Coms allows our instructors to stay in contact with the candidates at all times.

Congratulations to Stanley Tucker for passing is CS30 Chainsaw Maintenance & Cross- Cutting & CS31 Tree Felling Up-To 380mm over the past few weeks.

Stanley is the son of the almighty Dean Tucker from wychwood tree surgeons - a dear friend and an awesome climber.

It was a pleasure to see Stan through is first courses after just turning 16!

Congratulations to Jon, aka Frogzy 🐸𝙵𝚛𝚘𝚐𝚣𝚢 for passing is CS32 Felling Trees Over 380mm today.

This year, Jon has been venturing into the world of instructing here at Ground Up Training, with huge success, and nothing but glowing reviews from our candidates.

One candidate commented, “Jon’s enthusiasm and detailed training is remarkable” hailing him as the best instructor he has experienced.

Jon completed his CS32 this week in the run-up to becoming a City & Guilds assessor.

He will be the first assessor we have sponsored as a C&G centre here at Ground Up Training, and proudly too.

We firmly believe Jon will be an asset to the training & assessing world.

Don’t worry - we are still here

Every year is a new chapter for Ground Up Training, I’m never happy saying, “this is it we’re super busy. I’ll just stay like this”

I thrive on development and growth, what’s next? What’s the new direction?

The new features for Ground Up Training have taken an immense amount of attention to develop, which has left little time for social media unfortunately.

I look forward to launching our new products really soon.

In the meanwhile, I thought I would give an update on our week.
