Architecture & gardens work best when designed together - in one of our Chelsea Mews houses our clients really wanted a light filled space that could look up to a garden terrace. Responding to the constraints of the project involved allowing fresh air to ventilate the new open plan bedroom, dressing room and sunken bath area. We did this by creating two little external lightwells allowing us to reclaim what had been an unloved and unused ground floor terrace (complete with bars on the ceiling) At terrace level we transformed what was an unused and cluttered terrace area into an airy and verdant space replacing the lantern roof lights and void with rooflights. The simple pleasure of a completed home. In our Grade II listed Georgian townhouse we started with a very sad state affairs with a house that had been neglected and poorly refurbished over decades. Almost every original feature had been stripped out and replaced with poor imitations- plastic fake wood floors, chunky double glazed windows, inappropriate cornicing. Carefully we sourced every tiny detail so that it was authentic to the house’s context and age. Now it just feels like a calm backdrop to the eclectic and warm collection of furniture and beloved objects and plants that fill the room.

Delighted to have achieved listed building consent and planning permission for a two storey extension to our clients’ lovely Grade II listed Chelsea townhouse. The cyber attack on RBKC that shut down their whole planning department for over four months was definitely a challenge but a great result in the end. Very excited about this project, it’s going to be beautiful!

Designed for daily joy - on the ground floor of this terraced home, we redesigned the floor plan and created a generous extension so that there was comfortable space for living, dining and cooking. But the biggest feature of the room that everything was positioned to work with are the beautiful new windows that bathe the room in natural light throughout the day and look on to the view of the lush garden - a joyful sight. Whenever we have visited our clients since they moved in after the works were finished there have been friends and family gathered, the home comfortably spacious enough for everyone

Looking back on our Repton project where the new house and its garden were designed as a whole - with existing nature trees retained and pleached trees designed to frame the site and views of the new gable design house from the new swimming pool. Now built, the house is finished and our clients decided to keep the existing garden for the time being. Swipe to see the house and garden as it was and the bluebells we saw when we first visited the site, which still come back every year

A sweet little girl’s room in the mansard extension of a Victorian home. Cosy, useful and designed exactly to be uniquely hers. Behind the finished and comfy interior was months of planning and construction- choosing the exact shade of neutral pink so that the room could be suitable in five years time, designing the exact size shelving for paperback & hardback books and beloved objects, creating bespoke wardrobes and cupboards that fitted with the quirky roof shape, positioning the hanging chair so that it was structurally stable but also gave the best views in the room. Then making sure the right insulation and waterproofing was used for the new roof extension, choosing the perfect rooflights to bathe room in extra light and ensuring they didn’t clash with structural elements abx left enough space for the roof to breathe and not develop condensation. Working with the builder to get every detail just right so that at the end it feels effortless.

With the beautiful Spring weather we’re having in London at the moment, previous outdoor spaces come into their own. In this compact courtyard garden we transformed a barren concreted space into a lush sanctuary where you can have a morning coffee, kids can play and there’s a manageable amount of enjoyable gardening that can be done.

The finished view through the new kitchen, living and dining area in our Belsize House. Much deliberation went into finding the perfect arrangement of the three spaces together as it was really important to be able prepare food, entertain and eat together but to have somewhere to sit and relax too. All our early designs for the interior were created with the external architectural design. The view through an arched doorway in the entrance corridor leading all the way through the house through the new external doors and to the garden was key and something that made its way from the first models all the way to the end. The first of our photos from the photoshoot of our lovely Belsize park coach house project. The house had been initially created in the 1980s and sat unsympathetically in its historic surroundings. Crafting a new architecture tailored to both our client’s taste and personality as well as the beautiful historic surroundings we created a jewel box of a home. You step through a discreet coach house facade at the front but using the view from the back garden we created a new an impressive, decorative arched facade with new windows doors and balconies all connected through to a newly designed garden.

The heart of the kitchen in our Chelsea Arches mews house. A generous marble clad island, ideal for a morning coffee or entertaining in the evening. Fun fact, it’s actually a high quality porcelain that means you can spill champagne, put hot pots on it and it still looks perfect. Our clients loved the dramatic look of marble but didn’t want the upkeep so we searched to find the perfect spec. Kitchen designed bespoke in-house.
