Gosh, where did September go!?
Back to school, back to the lab, back to all the things I love. Looking through my camera roll, I didn't realise quite how much I've got done.

🧪 Lots of work at the lab bench both on my tried and tested formulas as well as some brand new ones (watch this space!). I had a pinch me moment when some of my materials arrived in kilo containers. Not so long ago when I first started out, I was ordering the same things in tiny 10g batches. How I've grown.

🌳 Time out of my lab, soaking up the remnants of summer in the great outdoors, and of course a little antique perfume bottle browsing.

👩‍🔬 Then there were some fantastic workshop experiences, in my own lab and with the lovely Jenny at in Tintern

🛍 Catching up with some of my wonderful Welsh retailers ahead of the Christmas season

🏎 And, not pictured, a fabulous corporate workshop just today - pics coming soon!

Tomorrow it will be October, we'll be well and truly into Autumn and it will be all systems go for shopping and gifting season. So tonight, it's feet up and a well deserved rest. 🍂

There's very likely a digital way to do it that would be far more efficient, but something in me likes the ceremony and ritual of writing each one out on it's own page.

This week we celebrate Autumn equinox, where the hours of light and dark are in perfect balance, and the astronomical start of autumn.

I've already felt the days getting crisper, and noticed the leaves begin to turn and fall, have you?

While I don't create any of my scents with a particular season in mind, I do think some of them just lend themselves better to a particular time of year.

Here are my top picks for Autumn:

mead, honey & wild resins, warm, ancient, and deeply evocative

Don't rub your wrists together, you'll bruise the molecules. Absolute rubbish! Read this 👇

OK, so the bruising molecules isn't true, but no, you absolutely shouldn't rub your wrists after applying fragrance. Why? Because it creates heat and friction encouraging those top notes to fade faster.

The correct way to apply fragrance to your wrists?
Spray
Leave to dry naturally

That's it. Simple.
